guys, hold out. It's apparent that SciresM (https://twitter.com/SciresM) it seems very well that 7.0 is crack. So please keep down "will this game require this fw?" because it seem to be a none issue at the moment.

Is it still possible to play online wihtout update?
If you have the latest update for whatever game you’re trying to play, probably. If you don’t have the latest update, then no, and you won’t be able to download the update and you probably won’t be able to use the eshop.

eShop worked for me last night. Downloaded the NES app. Its possible they changed it so now you actually need 7.0 but I'm not in the interest of inputting my Wi-Fi settings again and risk downloading 7.0

you guys think piranha plant dlc will requiere v7.0?
Technically the DLC is already out. If you redeemed your game for Gold points, you get the download code for Piranha Plant.

What's not out is the actual character data which will be embedded in a game update. And since none of the previous updates didn't actually require 6.2, the same can be said for the future update.

I figure since a lot of changes were made with API's and crap under the hood, it's likely many updates and new releases will utilize them & require 7.0. They won't necessarily be bypassable VIA patches similar to 6.2.

Could we get some SSBU icons? Please?
no they are saving it for 9.0.0 ,but not to worry the 8.0.0 update will also include

*Select from six Nintendo Labo™ icons for your user

* Added additional language support to the HOME Menu for Igbo (Simplified), Igbo (Traditional), and Telugu
in addition to many stability improvements

Someone must release out Switch flashcart that is similar to Sky3DS+ is bullet proof against all firmware updates means Nintendo company can't block it anymore. Smart move on. I love my Sky3DS+.

I will wait and hold for world first powerful flashcart (firmware upgrade support) with two buttons to release out for Nintendo Switch in near future. I'm in no hurry. Hope Switch flashcart support up to 2 TB microSD in near future will be overkill to carry a lot of switch games on single flashcart without swap many game cartridges to prevent tear wear down in slot.

What ZachyCat said, to elaborate a bit more, the game card slot is finicky and if it doesn't detect a proper cart won't initialise, not to mention that after the initial handshake the gamecard becomes encrypted

Oh that's great. No SSBU, but we get cardboard for our profile icons. I'll just stick with Captain Toad.

They did it once, so doing it again should be a breeze.
Or. They did it once, they may never be able to do it again.

Nintendo have the 6.2 exploit source code, they can design a better defence.

Exactly.... Even though the Firmware is decrypted, it DOES NOT mean the contents of said firmware are a piece of cake especially in terms of manipulating those contents into making usable CFW. Decrypting new firmware is just the first important step. I've been watching the Tweets closely, and there's some interesting stuff here that makes me wonder about the future....

Some examples:
