guys, hold out. It's apparent that SciresM (https://twitter.com/SciresM) it seems very well that 7.0 is crack. So please keep down "will this game require this fw?" because it seem to be a none issue at the moment.
If you have the latest update for whatever game you’re trying to play, probably. If you don’t have the latest update, then no, and you won’t be able to download the update and you probably won’t be able to use the eshop. Is it still possible to play online wihtout update?
You could just use maintenance mode if that happensI'm not in the interest of inputting my Wi-Fi settings again and risk downloading 7.0
If my goldfish updates to 7.0, its not just him I'll be having for dinner. You could just use maintenance mode if that happens
Not having an "old friend" for dinner are you Hannibal? If my goldfish updates to 7.0, its not just him I'll be having for dinner.
I was actually in the mood for cat today. Goes well with a side of vinagrete. Not having an "old friend" for dinner are you Hannibal?
ftftftftftftftftftftft!!!
Technically the DLC is already out. If you redeemed your game for Gold points, you get the download code for Piranha Plant.you guys think piranha plant dlc will requiere v7.0?
no they are saving it for 9.0.0 ,but not to worry the 8.0.0 update will also includeCould we get some SSBU icons? Please?

Flashcarts aren't possible on SwitchSomeone must release out Switch flashcart that is similar to Sky3DS+ is bullet proof against all firmware updates means Nintendo company can't block it anymore. Smart move on. I love my Sky3DS+.
I will wait and hold for world first powerful flashcart (firmware upgrade support) with two buttons to release out for Nintendo Switch in near future. I'm in no hurry. Hope Switch flashcart support up to 2 TB microSD in near future will be overkill to carry a lot of switch games on single flashcart without swap many game cartridges to prevent tear wear down in slot.
eShop worked for me last night. Downloaded the NES app. Its possible they changed it so now you actually need 7.0 but I'm not in the interest of inputting my Wi-Fi settings again and risk downloading 7.0

Oh that's great. No SSBU, but we get cardboard for our profile icons. I'll just stick with Captain Toad.no they are saving it for 9.0.0 ,but not to worry the 8.0.0 update will also include
*Select from six Nintendo Labo™ icons for your user
* Added additional language support to the HOME Menu for Igbo (Simplified), Igbo (Traditional), and Telugu
in addition to many stability improvements
They did it once, so doing it again should be a breeze.
Or. They did it once, they may never be able to do it again.
Nintendo have the 6.2 exploit source code, they can design a better defence.
For people complaining about "no new changes", 7.0.0 is actually definitely deserving of a major bump. Besides usual anti-hacker stuff, 7.0.0 has major API changes...new services and everything! They also seem to have turned on optimization flags(?) in a lot of sysmodules?
— Michael (@SciresM) January 29, 2019
Huh. Stock PM now limits the # of threads sysmodules can create to 0x60 (down from 0x260). There's a new pm:shell cmd to increase this limit to 0xC0, but I dunno if anything calls it on retail.

This seems like an anti-cfw measure (prevent CFW from creating threads?), wow!
To all pk1decryptor users: pk1decryptor is dead. It cannot decrypt the 7.0.0 package1 and never will be able to.

Now the TSEC FW bypasses the SMMU (!!!)
More precisions:
— motezazer (@elmirorac) January 29, 2019
-the written keys are random
-they are written to keyslots 0xC and 0xD, the keyslots where the TSEC writes the real keys when it is satisfied
-the function writing the fake keys is also called at each panic
