Yea the price will not drop until probably the end of next year.
So 2018 holiday it might drop $50.

But other then that no. It will be full retail. They will probably bundle it with a game or two come the end of this year.
But the system itself will no drop in price any time soon.
It still costs them alot to make.
The wii was sold at a lost, the wii u was sold at some profit but they alot money because the system didnt sell as well as they wanted to and they still keep the price the same for years.

kind of glad i bought mine on launch (this is the first time i purchased any kind of tech related thing on launch date) haha.
i just happened to be somewhere (in germany) where they actually do sell Nintendo consoles.

in where i live we do not have Nintendo consoles at all, they are probably only distributed to some parts of the middle east and probably in small units as N is really not so in ,in most of the middle eastern countries Sadly.

as for the switch price drops, one of my close friends is waiting here too for some price drop so that he orders one.

his guess was ,maybe late summer we might see some price drops.
but he is basically waiting for Nintendo to re-stock the units.

how come it is still taking so long though? i did read somewhere that Apple was to blame. (well then sorry Apple fans, cause i say curse apple, i dislike apple products, tried to use some iphone very long time ago, they are trashy.)

im all high on android (happy 6p owner).

anyways went too much offtopic sorry, to the OP mate just wait it out!
i am sure by the end of the year there might even be good bundles , you might see many prices from 360-380 $ Bundled with MK8 del./botw/splatoon and so on.

damn, that sounds insane!
mate , can you tell one thing please, the prices we see on Amazon for instance (the american based one) , are those prices official from Nintendo ?
i mean who are the ones that sell it? is it from official stock , or where exactly are they from ?

because they are obviously very pricey, are they pricey because of an extremely low stock yeah ?

Amazon and ebay prices are base on the market.
So since there in low stock at official places those prices will be higher.

Buy one now and enjoy the free but mediocre online until 2018, price drops...?

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon, Nintendo can hardly keep up with stock demands mind you dropping the price down.

I only see a price drop happening if Sony and Microsoft both announce price drops at E3 2017 for the XO Slim and PS4 Slim and Switch sales start to plummet as an aftereffect post announcement from Sony and Microsoft.
