hi guys. it is my first post here. i Hope i can post there. i have a problem guys.. After modding something likes 50 V2 switch, i try to mod an oled switch with sk hynix Memory. i do all and It work like a sharm for 1 month. now sometime when i go to sleep and i shut off the console, the morning after, when i power it on, he start directly in ofw and the led show 1 long and 1 short Yellow light = dat0 missing point. it happened the last 3 days of 5. before, It glitch fast and fine everytime. for now i try to flash the 2.74 firmware and the 2.73 and i force the chip relearning but nothing seems to change. if i retry, after some reboot It start and all work fine and i can reboot many time with no error but the morning later i can get the same error. Is a firmware issue or i need to resoldering the dat0? when i solder It, i'm sure i push It good in place and i test It with a multimeter and all works fine so i dont think is a soldering problem. i not have photo here but i follow this video guide and i use the same rp2040 clone chip from AliExpress.
i Hope Someone can help. tnx in advance and sorry for my bad english

check all the omhs and continuity on the soldered points. Don't skip the capton tape. if all fails try another mod chip.

I recall that sk hynix emmcs were giving a lot of heat-related problems.
In other devices like the Galaxy tab, they would get so hot that they would damage the connection with the PCB and you neede the reball them.

Besides that, some emmcs need different resistors for more stability.
Just go (backwards) through the picofly sticky thread or use the search function.

No matter how well you place the adaptor, it is not a permanent contact. If this is your own unit, you can reseat the adaptor. If you're selling the service, then you shouldn't use the adaptor because it's unreliable.

reballing the emmc brought numerous problems after months due to the breaking of the spheres. the only way that makes the modification reliable as other models is the kamikaze.
Not true, non-controlled temperature rising curve reflowing BGA or bad quality solder paste/balls is the actual cause of such un-reliable. My own OLED has infamous skhynix emmc and have reballed with dat0 jumper wire there over a year, working as usual(kamikaze method was not out yet at that time).

BTW, kamikaze gets more popular and reliable is based on its easier steps and less stress on components(emmc especially), but you would need more careful when exposing the dat0 point under 2x ground layers

Undoubtedly a reballing done in a workmanlike manner is reliable, but who has the professional equipment to do this? In the vast majority of cases, these are artisanal jobs that offer no guarantees in the long term. The kamikaze, if he succeeds, is forever

thx for the reply guys. on the last month i get only one dat0 error and when i forced boot with volume down pressed, he enter in hekate. so i think if it is a real dat0 poor connection, why with volume down can glitch fine? Is that a software problem or maybe the chip itself? i try to update to the latest 2.8 and for now seems to work fine

p.s. i get another sk hynix modded and got the same error and if i boot with volume down he glitch fine. other 2 non sk hynix i get modded and work without problem

update: i got the same error and i disassemble the console, i try the c connection with a multimeter and i have no contact, so i remove the old dat0 adapter and installed a new One with 4 anchor points and now work fine so this Is a hardware problem. i test It on this month but i think is good now with 4 anchor points. tnx to all guys👍

It can also have 12 anchor points, as soon as the hot and cold blows loosen the contacts you may have the problem again.

Any dremel will do, but the most important thing is a microscope and a suitable grinding head, 0.5-0.8mm is best. Remember that it is almost impossible to succeed without a microscope
