Hardware Switch not turning on after battery replacement (only shows logo)

I recently replaced the battery to my Switch, and it won't turn on.

However, whenever I plug it in, only the logo turns on, and it goes back to black. Anything I can do?

I would suggest that if your old battery still works then re-install it to see if the system boots up. Possible the new battery is defective.

this is a modded switch.

Can you get on NYX?. NYX can tell us more information about your hardware

NYX is part of Hekate. Stopping Hekate from booting and going into NYX could show if there are any battery or other hardware issues So good idea.


I think the battery change is coincidental and there’s either a new mod under /atmosphere/contents or an upgraded FW or some like that.


1) Move/Rename /atmosphere to /atmosphere.bk
2) Move/Rename /bootloader to /bootloader.bk
3) copy /bootloader.bk/hekate_ipl.ini to /bootloader/
4) do PC version of this: https://rentry.org/UpdateCFW

Stop here unless you can successfully boot.

Once successfully booting…
5) grab FW from that Darthsternie Firmware site
6) do this https://rentry.org/UpgradeDowngrade

I fixed the problem by putting my older battery back in. Turns on fine now. I think I'm gonna return the battery replacement.
