just got a used hackable nintendo switch on version 5.1.0 from the pawnshop. my question is, do i need to update my firmware to 6.2.0?

Is SX OS Beta 2.4 safe to use yet? And do I need to dump keys in order to use it on 6.2.0?
Safe? I don't see why not. Also nothing in their change-log indicates it needs external keys to work unless you found some contradictory evidence...?
is there a way to migrate the sysnand with all files to the sx os emunand?
You have to do so from the SX Loader menu which you can enter by holding volume + when sending a payload.

No you do not have to unless you want to play online (which is not a good idea with a hacked console) or there is an update you wish to install that requires that firmware.
For ChoiDujourNX - where on the SD card do I need to place the FW files? The root? In the switch foldeR?
Anywhere is fine.

I know that but can I somehow keep all gamefiles

Hi All,
I've been looking across all threads but cannot seem to find this exact question with a recent answer... Is there a way to update games (game updates, dlc, etc) after installing on any CFW? I'm on 6.2 using Atmosphere.

I remember in the WII U days there was an update file that could be downloaded and installed to get the update on system.

Thanks all!

Google what you are asking for. There is a version of the game floating out there that will work on < 6.2 FW

Hi guys, I have a switch updated from original firmware 6.0.1 to 6.1 via choidujour .. I m using reinx as cfw so the question now that reinx supports 6.2 is it safe to update?

You have to scour the Internet for the games updates in .NSP format then install them with a title installer such as Tinfoil which comes with all CFW (except vanilla Atmosphere).

While there are is only one build of ReiNX (which can only be found in the ReiSwitched Discord Server) that supports firmware 6.2, there is not much reason to update to 6.2 unless you plan on playing online.

my 6.1.0 emunand is requesting an update when i want to start mario kart and is denying the start of it all. any solution?

So apparently my switch didn't shut off all the way last night and is at very little battery life. As soon as I launch atmosphere, the console boots and then I get a small battery charging symbol in the top left.

Will USB 3.0 charge a switch, or am I boned?

I have a wall charger with USB PD that would work, but I think I have to power on the switch to Atmosphere before I can use it. As soon as I unplug the USB, it shuts off.

Edit: Answered my own question because the switch just shut off. I booted hekate, unplugged the PC usb, then plugged in my power wall outlet. Still battery charging symbol in the top left. Am I boned though?

plug the thinginto a usb charger or dock for 30-45 minutes then take it off and it will have enough charge to do whatever you need to buddy. dont ready any other bs - this will work!

Since SX OS now supports 6.2, you can now update its system firmware.

Just keep it charging.

How does it work? Have no emunand yet?
EmuNAND is just a copy of your SysNAND. Just create an EmuNAND partition.

hi, two weeks ago i've mod with a friend my nintendo switch, and before proceed with install all tools, exploit etc. my friend does a backup with hekate of clean switch(without mods, exploit, tools, cfw etc.). my question is: if i restore this clean backup without any type of mod, i risk the ban if i go online?

.

The screen eventually shuts off though, with no charging indicator in the top left. Is this normal?

Edit: I guess it was actually charging at the same time. Gave it another 20 minutes and booted it - 10% battery. *phew*!

So to prevent this from happening in the future, I thought I shut it off from the power options. Somehow it turned on again and was in RCM mode. Do I just have to put it in standby and always charge it?

Edit2: Also I learned I need the keys from 6.2 to install the XCI, not the ones I dumped in 4.0. DOH!
