Im considering buying a 3.0 switch after selling my 4.0.1 as I can only afford one.

My question is when I get it,
1) Is it a good idea to still use the 3.0 switch to play zelda botw, and pokken while waiting for homebrew and even afterwords?
2) How would that work?
3) Would i have to be disconnected from the internet at all times. Sorry just bought one recently.

2) Put the cardridge in and start the game (just make sure the game need a fw <=3.0.0

A friend wanted to know and buy a Switch on the firmware he wants. He wants to get another Switch on 3.0.0 or below. He got a spare Switch but doesn't know what firmware it's on and wants to find out but if it's not on the right firmware, he's going to sell it.

It stays on the firmware as long as you don't connect it to the internet/update with a game cartridge.

You don't have to go online to find out the firmware. If the serial number isn't already documented in the serial number topic then you can either go into recovery mode or setting up a profile when starting it for the first time while skipping the online option and then checking the system settings.

We knew about the 2nd part but I never went into recovery mode on my Switchs so I didn't know how to do it from it. Plus I mentioned the serial number on the serial number thread and waiting to see if someone could help us find out before he turns it on since we didn't see it.

So my one with serial number Xaw10041770008 is at least 3.0.2? Well that stinks. Guess he'll be reselling it and the hunt for 3.0.0 or below continues.

We don't know yet. It depends on what gets released before it.

I haven't set up PegaSwitch yet (due to the "Mii deleting side effect") but I understood it as a way to send homebrew apps (NRO files) from the PC to the Switch.
Is it also possible to just run the browser on the Switch through that and enter any url?

Or in other words, what's the easiest way to actually use the browser on the Switch on 3.0.0?

I wanna try out some HTML5 games.
