That's the neat part; you don't. Any usage of CFW/homebrew as you know with your previous console. So you have to decide if your save data is worth your access to online. If it were up to me, I wouldn't risk it as I would already have a hacked and banned console. Adding another would not be ideal.

Don't use the ones from sigmapatches. They aren't a good source of patches. Instead, use the ones from this thread.
Okay thank you. There is still one question coming up to my mind: I want to edit the savegame of ACNH because of getting items, other neighbors and so on. I think I will connect both of my ACNH games, the one I have now edited with Save Manager online on my banned switch and the new one, with local play and trade the items and neigbors and whatever. Is that save or is there a risk that my new switch will get banned?
Thanks for the help :)

Since I updated to the latest atmosphere, i cannot access JKSAV. Any attempt to do so results in a black screen and then a Blue screen with the atmosphere logo where its says there was an error code and to reboot the sysem, then a load of code. Never happened before.

Any ideas?

Trying to get Metroid dread cheats to work on Edison. I'm using Title ID: 010093801237C000, build number: 4916D9CCBC15DF9. Keeps telling me there's no cheats for it. As far as I know, I have placed them in the appropriate path/folders Edison/Title ID folder/ Cheat Folder, then a notepad file named as the build number..Is this right? What am I doing wrong? Cheats seem to work on other games like the Zelda games and not on others like the metro games. Any help with this will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys

Noob here. I have a Patched Switch and i got it the SXCORE chip installed around 2 years ago. I had no problem with it before, but now i've noticed that the Switch battery was draining faster than before and it drained even when it was turned off. Today I noticed the battery was dead and put it to charge, it booted Hekate and the battery marked like 0,7% and then i powered it off to leave it charging some more. It has been connected for at least 6 hours and it doesn't turn on, not even the modchip lights, have tried holding the POWER button and then trying to turn it on again, didn't work either. Is it normal and should i leave it charging overnight or is it something else? Thank you in advance

Thanks to wayayeo and stethix I have a working OLED with Picofly

I do have a question about EMUMMC. The stethix video instructed to make the eumnand partition 12GB. Does that mean anything I want to run in emummc needs to be on that partition? If so, I'm gonna have to make it a LOT bigger.

Or am I missing something?

That's only if you want a small emunand. Essentially, some people make their emunand small for just saves since you can install everything (besides saves) to the sd card. I just had to wipe my setup cause I screwed up and corrupted my sd. Made my emunand 9gb and still have ~200gb free on my sd

Will that cause issues if I go back to OFW to download/play my legit games?

I was looking for a way to connect my PS4 controller to my switch since I didn't want to drop $80 on a joycon so that I can play Mario Kart against my friend (I just own one joycon). I went ahead and ordered a 8Bitdo Wireless adapter but during my search I ran across Mission Control which sounds really cool.

Unfortunately, I never loaded cfw and is on v16.0.3. I started reading this guide (https://switch.homebrew.guide/gettingstarted/checkingrcm.html) and at Step 1: Accessing RCM. Is it still worthwhile to continue reading since I'm on the latest version meaning I'm unable to load cfw? Beside Mission Control I want to load backup games.

Hi there! I have a Switch running 16.0.2, and I have a modded Smash Utimate with a folder of mods on my microSD. My 512GB card is formatted to FAT32, and everything was working great with things until I closed out of Smash, and then reopened it, it now immediately crashes. I have made no changes to the mods folder, and when I remove all mods by renaming the folder the game boots normally. What can I do to fix this?

no it wont since emunand and sysnand are 2 separate environments. the games installed while in emunand wont be seen while in sysnand.

firmware doesnt matter. all firmwares are compatible with cfw, what matters is if you have a hackable switch that has the hardware exploit, exploiting rcm mode by shorting 2 pins. i suggest this guide, find out if its hackable. Worst case scenario, you learn some things and if it isnt. you gotta get a modchip

i dont know whats wrong besides one of the mods is crashing the game. remove all and then add mods 1 by 1 untill you figure out which one it is. then try redownloading it or see if there's an update

Hello,
I would like to check if there was a way I could extract and export the list of Tinfoil installed games in my Switch in txt or some easy to read format? I tried asking this in Chatgpt but got a list of steps that are probably deprecated. Appreciate your help!

Hi, folks. Kind of a noob here. I installed Tesla and EdiZon on my Switch, which works almost flawlessly. I can get the overlay outside the game, and the cheats work, but not when playing it. It almost feels like it is there, but it is invisible (the buttons stop working until I hit B several times for it to work again).

I have reinstalled everything from scratch at least three times now. Any ideas on what could be happening? Much appreciated.

Oh, I forgot: every software is on the latest version available as of yesterday.

hello, new here,
and probably asking a repeated question, but I did use search i promise.

looking to mod a v2 non-led switch, with one of those mail - in services.

what would you guys recommend,

Should I go with a pico fly or hwfly

with one of the chips available on Aliexpress something like: t i ny ur l . co m / 2p 9 ce8 hs , -> similar exist for hwfly
.don't want to go the custom microcontroller route with pico chip as the pre-assembled boards like the one above are much neater.

my requirements are pretty much average,

- ability to boot into ofw (may be as a default) as the switch is a shared one.
- and boot to cfw + atmosphere for myself.
- the chip firmware itslef should be flashable / upgradable without too much of ahassle like ripping out wires or soldering.
things like open switch, connect usb cable and upgrade is fine.
- OFW will be online, need online play (the full switch experience). CFW (emummc) would be the hacky bit with offline play only, or may be some online things.
- Any general good to know things that apply for modchip + cf, like never nver booting to sysnand + cfw from hekate launch menu, Always using reboot -> OFW to boot to OFW etc?
- can someone point me to a good guide for setting up the cfw (hekate + atmosphere + emummc and the stuff)? .
All tutorials I could find talk about v1 software methods, but nothing that I could find specifically for mod chip. I know that at some points the steps are same , but I am looking for instructions on what to do right after installing just the modchip, how to setup sd card for use with modchip, which button combination to use to load to hekate etc.

Thank you!
can anyone help with answering these beginner questions, it will greatly help in getting me started,

thank you

Hi everyone, I have a question about overclocking the Switch, what causes the battery damage?
- Extreme processor usage?
- Battery overheating?
I really don't know what damage the Switch...

I have seen people who modified their Switch to cool it by installing 2 processor coolers, with that, they can finally Overclock the Switch.

Finally installed an NSP in emummc to try it out.

Since my emummc was cloned from my OFW, if I launch a game using my profile, it gives me an internet error, then I cancel and then select Start Software then get an error 2002-1002 and back to home screen.

I created a new profile not linked to online and it will run the game after selecting start software no problem.

Two questions.

Is there a way to get it to run in my original profile?

If I use the new profile, is there a way to transfer my save games over from my OFW legit profile and have them work in the new offline profile?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
