Rumors are flying around that Nintendo plans to release a more portable "Switch Mini". That's fine if you want that sort of thing. I say, screw that! If they're gonna do the 3DS thing with this system then I want a screen-less Switch-box. Just give me the damn hardware in a box with the joy cons and a grip and I'll be VERY happy. I'm fairly certain that any touch only games will make their way to Android so I don't need a Switch for that. We have 2DS, 3DS and 3DS XL. I think the market can handle a Switch Box, Switch Mini and Switch.

So it's rumored that they're going release another failed launch system?
I loved Nintendo. I remember when they make good games that's worth every buck you spent.
Now they're just money grabbers. $70- $80 for a new game?! Even Sony charges $60 for a brand new (decent and worth while to play) game.
And thanks to Nintendo locking people down to 3 levels in Super Mario Run or pay $13.99 just to unlock levels.
I'm talking Canadian prices here.

I know that Switch mini is just a mockup, but damn it looks good, I'd buy it instead of the normal Switch without hesitation.

The haters/trolls really start to become evident and lose credibility when they're still complaining about Nintendo failing even when Nintendo just had their most successful launch of any system to date.

And when nintendrones defends the company using a successful launch as a fact for the console success.

Successful launch ≠ Console success.

If you wanna talk about a successful console, wait 2 or 3 years and lets see how things are still going.

Back on topic, that mock up looks better than the real thing imo.

Didn't say it means its a successful console. But it does mean that its absolutely foolish to say that Nintendo is failing right now, when everything is looking up at the moment. If I'm a Nintendrone for pointing out that right now would be one of the least logical times to say that Nintendo is failing, so be it. Doesn't make what I'm saying any less true.

If the display quality and resolution is retained (just downsized), and the guts (specs) are the same, I'd take that one. Although I think the joy-con idea is cool, I'm basically NEVER in a local multiplayer scenario, I'm more or less 7 years past the motion controls thing, and I don't like the idea of detachable anything on a portable. And most of all, real d-pad ftw.

You didn't say right now in your other post, so i assumed you were talking in general.

It should have been pretty clear. I was talking about how they just had their most successful launch of any system so far. When people are complaining that Nintendo is failing at a time like right now when they just had that most successful launch for any of their systems, it becomes incredibly clear who the genuine Nintendo haters/trolls are. That was all I was saying.

Welp, with that design how would you play snipperclips co-op? Since no dettachable joycons mean no SR SL buttons :c

The rumors suggest that separate Joy-Cons and Switch Pro Controllers could still connect to the mini version, and that the Mini version would either have its own dock, or maybe come with a cord that could connect it to the available dock so that you could still play the mini Switch on your TV just like you can with the standard version.

Mate, check the monthly sales. It's making amazing pace. It's being rather consistent.

I know, but i prefer to be skeptical about it. The wii u left a really bad flavour that i'm still trying to forget.

Sure, but at least with the Wii U when people were saying a month after release that Nintendo was doomed with the system, there was genuine good reason and logic to be saying such a thing. At this moment, there really is no good reason to say the Switch is a failure and that Nintendo is doomed with it. I can understand the attitude of being cautious and wary for the future of the system, but to say definitively that its future is doomed at this moment makes so little sense. It'd be like if after watching the first quarter of a football game where your team is winning by 3 touchdowns, and your friend turns to you and says, this game is over, our team is clearly going to lose.

Never said nor i think it will fail, i do actually like the switch, but at least for me, i still need to see more games that are appealing rather than ports from old gen. Mario Oddysey is a nice starting point.

I didn't say you did, but someone here did and he was the reason that I initially pointed out that now is one of the least logical times to be saying such a thing
