Hello. I am fairly new to the scene and I have some questions if you could help me please. I have recently purchased team rebugs switch me chip and wish to install.

    1. Does the payload need to be installed before installing the chip?

    2. What are the benefits of 4, 5 or 6 wire installs?

    3. What is the overall best install ?

    4. Do I need to cut a hole on the plastic switch backing to access reset button?

    I gues on earth.
    1. You can flash it to the chip afterward. But before is probably better.
    2. 4 wires - you have to have a way of going to RCM (jig and so on); 6 wires - it writes pin 10 low, so that you don't need a jig. 7 wires - it writes pin 10 and volume up low, so that you don't have to do anything except clicking power button
    3. Depends. Some installs will eat your battery (minimally, but will).
    4. No. You might need to cut the metal backplate, but not the plastic. You can just push it.

The options are 4,5,6,7, but I am not sure if your modchip supports the 5 wires.
    RCM = recovery mode
I did trinket m0 and 6 wires (which will drain your battery in 133 days :D )

Thanks buddy. This is the blurb I got from modmyswitch:

Auto RCM Strapping – 5-6 wire install
Software Auto RCM – 4 wire install
Normal Mode – 4 wire install
Auto Payload injection after reboot – 5-6 wire install

If no Auto RCM Software or Strapping used you will either need to use a jig or solder pin 1-10 on the right joycon.
We will have detailed write-ups soon under the Nintendo Switch section of the site

It looks like it can do 4,5,6

Do you have a link to the 5 and 6 wire install?

When it says auto RCM not required , is that a setting to be adjusted when adding payload?
