I have a 3.0.0 switch and bought zelda last month to can play a good game in 3.0.0 nut the game must do an "update " when i insert the cartridge.
I must do it? :(
They change all old games to update all switch??
I can't test my switch since 2 month because of that

Thanks

If you want to play the game normally then yes, you must do it. But keep in mind that if you do update your switch, you wont have access tothe homebrew plutoo will be releasing in February, which doesnt really makes sense since you will probably be able to play zelda on that coming hack. If i were you, i would wait. This plutoo method seems way easier than the team xecuter, which will most likely be a hardmod stuff. So in short, dont update

Once more exploits are discovered, I hope we will be able to modify games. I would KILL to add lives to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Battle Mode. Bob-Bomb Blast and Balloon Battle just aren't the same anymore...

You mean fail0verflow or I miss something?

I feel bad for the Nintendo Switch. If an exploit (read "piracy") is discovered this early most devs will be disinterested again like with the Wii U.

Oh dear god, another one. Why do people have this mindset?

you can think the otherwise ?

Because no consoles have ever been discontinued or affected by piracy? Maybe you fear-mongering anti-piracy proponents should actually do some research and get facts before making up unsubstantiated claims? Or is that too difficult? No developers have ever vowed to never make games because of hacking.

I thought most people just didn't care for the WiiU. I've only seen Smea playing around with it of the "3DS" hackers.

Retweet from Smealum on Twitter.
"@smealum: RT @fail0verflow: In case it wasn't obvious, our Switch coldboot exploit:
* Is a bootrom bug
* Can't be patched (in currently released Switches)"

So basically, anyone who currently owns a Switch, REGARDLESS OF FW VERSION, will end up with homebrew at some point soon. Ninty has to puff out a hardware revision to block it.

EDIT: I should also mention that while it exists, FoF probably has no intent of releasing it.

I know. Its stupid to think that the main reason the Wii U died was piracy. There has been piracy on the 360 and PS3 for a long time now but those consoles were supported to death.

I didn't see anyone say that piracy was the main reason for failure.

But piracy obviously doesn't help. No developer or publisher looks at a console and says, "Hey, this thing is cracked wide open so we should definitely port our games over to it."

The Xbox 360 and PS3 were well supported, but who can say whether or not they wouldn't have been *better supported* if the piracy didn't exist?

It's well established that piracy was certainly one of the factors behind the failure of the Dreamcast. So only a total idiot would conclude that it wouldn't be possible for piracy to have a detrimental effect on any other consoles.

But having said all that, I'm not here to preach. I like free games just as much as everyone else. But let's not bullshit here - piracy is NOT helpful to any platform.

That's pure conjecture, though. The only way we could possibly know definitively is if we could somehow look into an alternate version of reality and see the results after a console generation with AND without piracy simultaneously, with nothing else changed
