Absolutely no way that it crashes to RCM.

technically RCM mode is booted when the system menu is bricked

I did, looks like a bit too much.

The thing is, nobody knows if this battery issue has any damaging effects or not, so it might be wise to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

I don't use the switch in handheld as much as I did today to get it under 50%, so I'll probably wait for a day where I can afford to just keep the switch on and keep power cycling it.

The Switch already goes into RCM if you remove the eMMC

I never said it didn't. I'm suggesting a way into RCM from software related to something mentioned earlier in the thread. A way to launch RCM on every reboot.

I was just promoting discussion. My second line mentions the eMMC! Lol

My point was, therefore any slight corruption would be enough to force that.

Also I want to clarify that the same thing happened with DOOM. I've been playing alot of indie games today and those drain much less battery.

If you run Linux, don't bother contacting nintendo...

Also I want to clarify that the same thing happened with DOOM. I've been playing alot of indie games today and those drain much less battery.

Its so easy to take out a few screws and just disconnecting the battery plug, press power button for a few seconds, reconnect it and just screw it back...

But does this happen on the dock too? If yes, then some part of the nand might be corrupted?

Your battery calibration is probably messed up from Linux.
Follow these directions to try and fix it.
