Swiss on Wii

I am trying to run Swiss through Swiss Booter on my Wii. I am using an SD2GC adapter with all the required files in memory card Slot B. I am getting a power cycle when i try and run it. I don't have a cMIOS installed yet because I wasn't sure if I needed it or if it would conflict with my current installed cIOS. The guide I'm following suggests it go in slot 249. If I do need a cMIOS is it possible that I can install it in IOS222 or IOS223. Currently I have d2x beta 52 v10 occupying IOS249 and IOS250.

The reason I'm trying to run Swiss is so that I can force a few games to 240p.

No cMIOS required for Swiss.

Swiss works on my PAL Wii (RVL-001, 2006) with this setting:

IOS249[56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, Acces NAND, USB 2.0
MIOS v10

I use a SDGecko in slot B, with SwissBooter0.3 and Swiss v.06r1400 (I never updated to a more recent version, as I use Swiss only to be able to force my PAL discs in 480p).

Be sure to rename swiss-r1400.dol to swiss.dol, and put it in the "apps/Swiss" folder (alongside SwissBooter boot.dol ) (but you surely already know that)

i read thru syscheck’s code and currently, it’s unable to detect cMIOS unless it’s DIOS MIOS. the recommended cMIOS is a mod of MIOS v10 so shows up as v10. on actual MIOS v10, swiss booter will start BC no problem, which will start the MIOS, which will try to start swiss and error out, sending you to the return channel with no error message. i’ve been tryna think of a good way to catch that error

@Otacon there is only one IOS needed for gamecube because the gamecube was already finalised when the wii was released, so there’s only one slot you can install MIOS to and yeah, cMIOS is required for all gamecube homebrew

edit: also that slot isn’t slot 249 but rather a hard-coded title in the wii that always has the only MIOS in it. slot 249 contains the cIOS needed to run the MIOS installer
