Hacking Supercard DSone (NOT DS2) vs. Acekard 2i

Yes, the acekard is slightly cheaper, but since the supercard comes with a microsd reader and the acekard doesn't, the point really is moot for me. They're pretty much the same price.

A USB reader is $1.20 or so from DX...

Last time I checked... AK2i was $12 or so, and SConei was $22 or so...

That's a $10 difference... all for a $1.20 microD USB reader? Not really...

Buy a $3 Sandisk reader. My DX reader died on me in 1/2 weeks.

My SCDS1i reader I don't even touch.

AFAIK no you don't need to touch the SD speed thing. I don't touch it. I just left it at max.

BTW RTG sucks.

No, you don't have to set it each time. In fact, it's on auto by default and that usually does just fine. Also, format your microSD with the panasonic format tool recommended by acekard and you won't even notice a difference. I've always had mine on Auto.

Also, I got both of mine from RealHotStuff.com and my Acekard 2i did come with a microSD adapter.

Boxshot: Yeah, I saw a few pics of RTG, and it really does look like it sucks, but it may be helpful for really, really small guides.

The best prices I can find right now are $15 for the acekard, or $19 for the supercard. And yeah, kind of skeptical of those $1 readers, like Boxshot said. Also the m3izero is out of my price range.

Saddamsdevil and Analogman: Thank you for clarifying that speed point. It seems that RHS doesn't have the 2i supplied now, and it didn't have it supplied when I checked a few days ago, so yeah...

Well guys, it seems that the supercard really is a super card. And since I haven't heard a single good reason why I should buy the acekard over the supercard, and since I just can't find a single negative for it, I think I'm just going to go for it. It's not complicated to use anymore, its compatability is 100%, it has real strong build and durability, it has official support (which is likely not to drop), there's a reliable RTS (and possibly useful RTG), there's a quality sd reader bundled, etc. The only thing it doesn't have is as huge a community as the acekard community backing it. Thank you everyone for helping me in my search!

You won't regret it, guaranteed. The supercard has a very solid dev team and userbase, and is very user friendly.

I have nothing but good news when it comes to Supercard.

My bad. The $12 one was from DX but that is gone now.


M3i Zero is my number one card because of Sakura
AK2i is my number two card (I run any games on it that do not work on M3i Zero) because of the fast updates and all the AK2i fanboys here...


Whenever a new AP game comes out, the discussion centers on: Does it work on AK2i... & does it work on R4...
It is just easier to find out when a game works on AK2i...

To find out if it runs on M3 & SC takes a bit more digging around through all the rubbish posts in the threads... You can find out, it just takes more effort...

EDIT: BTW, I have around 10 different carts or so, it is just too much effort to use them all. I only use 2 regularly. The rest lie around and get in the way...
