It's not that good, compared to Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Blame FLUDD for this. GRRR, it was a pain in the ass!

Well, it was one of the worst Mario games... but even the worst Mario games are nice, I'm sure there are very few Mario's that are what you'd call BAD (at least the ones made by Nintendo). I also liked Sunshine and played it a lot, just never got to finish it.

Hell no it aint one of the worst, what about Super Mario Pinball, Mario Is Missing, Hotel Mario, Mario's Time Machine, Mario's Game Gallery (the 1st game to feature the voice of Charles Martinet)

Sunshine was actually the first 3-D Mario game I did finish... SM64's controls were a bit clunky at the time, and the graphics (while 3-D rendered) were fuzzy, ugly and full of jaggies compared to the crisp, 2-D graphics of the side-scrollers which preceeded it.

It took Sunshine to really get me in the groove of 3-D Mario gaming, at which time I finally went back and played through SM64.

Funny to say, but i think there's a possibility 3DS devs will sometimes not use the touchscreen as much, at least for touch controls. It's great for minimaps or extended HUD's. But for a main game display, i think they won't use it nearly as much as they did for the DS.
I agree with you in that sentiment. Nintendo are giving the developers so many options, it is going to be hard for a single game to use all the features competantly. I can only think of titles like Wario Ware (which I am sure will make an appearance) will end up using all the features. That said, I hope that developers dont end up attempting to shoehorn in functionality when it is not practical.

I'm finding it odd that Nintendo are still porting N64 games, I expected them to port shitloads of Gamecube.

Anyway I guess they're doing what they want rather then do something because they can or what people expect.

Is it still considered porting when they actually redo the graphics?(which is actually mostly what we know of the games). I'm sure they'll probably port quite a few GCN after the launch craze.

Yes.

Its still the same game engine.

I replayed Sunshine recently, and I have to say whilst it was fun...it lacked a lot of depth, especially compared to Mario 64.
Even Reggie acknowledged Sunshine wasn't that great.

Definitely yes, as I never got a chance to play this game on the Gamecube.
This.

I wouldn't mind a new 3D Mario game developed for the 3DS either, but if an SMS port was made I would be interesting in playing it, as I never have.

And I was fine with the D-Pad in 64DS.

(I'd also love to see a Wipeout game on this, as well as others)
