Currently it is not possible to participate in the online community in Super Mario Maker using Loadiine.

Once a backup loader surfaces for the IOSU exploit, would it be possible to use the online community?

I'm not familiar with how SMM works when it comes to the online stuff. Does it have a database that checks if you've pirated the game? Sort of like a unique serial sort of thing? If so, can it be spoofed?
Is it possibly something about Loadiine being too limited?

If IOSU grants access to the Wii U in its' entirety, I can imagine it's possible, but like I said I do not have any knowledge of how it works.

You can play online in Mario Maker, as long as you're on 5.3.2 and have the real game disc. You just gotta spoof the firmware.

But yep IOSU will solve any online problems we have now, without buying the real game disc.

I swear, Mario Maker is pretty expensive! Even for the disc alone, it's $50.

I was really asking what is different between Loadiine with a spoofed firmware and its inability to participate online and running the game via some backup loader built around the IOSU exploit.

endoverend reminded me about the possibility of emuNAND, which at the time of writing the OP had completely slipped my mind.

Stop creating pointless threads and keep to the main ones. https://gbatemp.net/threads/hykems-5-5-iosu-exploit.406150/page-33

This is not related to IOSU and the actual exploit in general, I was asking about how the online stuff in SMM worked and if IOSU will open up that possibility. I was thinking it would be more than a one-word answer, so I felt rather than shitting up the replies of the main IOSU thread more, it would be more appropriate to start a discussion.

However, it turns out IOSU bringing emuNAND support answered my question, which at the time of writing the OP had slipped my mind.

There's no need for you to police other users like that. That's the moderator's job.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
