MrBean35000vr is known for abandoning amazing projects: SMG2 Split-Screen Multiplayer and Mario Kart 8 Custom Tracks. And it's all just for MKWii which I'm not going against it. I love MKWii but these other projects could have been amazing!

Old topic, but I would loved if this had ever seen the light of day. I wish he at least released an alpha build so maybe someone else could take it up, it's an awful shame really.

With more older mario games getting multiplayer mods (that Super Mario 64 8 player with no screen sharing looks amazing) I'm sure in the future someone may continue where bean left off. Definitely in the far future though.

I see the same guy has a NSMBWii mod that allows 2 player multiplayer and he did release that! https://github.com/MrBean35000vr/netslug-wii

Interesting, although it is a lot easier to use netplay on an emulator. In my opinion though the beauty of the Wii and Wii u is that it brought people together, not from around the world but on the same couch, and that to me is 10 times better than games only featuring online and such. It's just better in person.

Yeah that's also true, I wish more online games included local multiplayer though, to at least have a choice. I would say vice versa for Nintendo games I don't think things like their party games would be the same over the internet though.
