[IMG]Super Mario Adventure is a rom hack of New Super Mario Bros. for the DS.
This game has been a work in progress since December of 2009, but has been on and off. Now, the project is fully off the ground and I'm ready to reveal it to the public.
Currently, only world 1 has bee fully re-designed. I'm hoping to work at a relatively fast pace, and am hoping to release the full game by the end of Summer 2012.

I have no screenshots yet, but as soon as I can get on an emulator they'll be a lot of those.
I'll update this thread when there's progress.

    Demo 1: http://www.mediafire...7cnh9a2g96zhg7y
    -World 1 fully playable
    -World 2-1 blocked off currently
-World 1 Castle has the tiny issue of red lines following you, but I should be able to fix that.

    Demo 2: Early 2012
    Full Game: Summer 2012

seems ok, but we need a hell of a lot more info on the hack - story etc.

I'm sorry but what is the aim of this hack? You said that you've hacked the game, but what is hacked exactly. Also the fact that you have set release dates on specific days is very, very weird, because it will NEVER be finished on that specific date. There's always much bug fixing and tweaking to be done, before you can release a proper hack.

I'm pretty good at setting things to a deadline.

I've hacked a lot of levels so far, and soon I'll be hacking the title screen.
The levels will be MUCH harder, and you'll really have to think to be able to get through the. World 1-3 is a prime example of this.
I've also come up with some new concepts.
It's like, a Super Super Mario Bros if you like. Hopefully I'll be hacking the overworld and the music too.

I don't think you will. Nobody has hacked the overworld for now. Even Dirbaio could not do it [IMG]
You will have to fully understand 3d textures and its animations. Even after understanding that, you will have to know, how to change the movement paths well.
Otherwise, Good Luck with your Hack. I will give it a try, when you have some more Levels. [IMG]

Really? it's THAT difficult? Shame. Well, I can at least change the music [IMG]
And cheers, I have the first 2 levels properly completed. It's not taken a year and a half to finish them, but I started re-doing them as soon as I decided to make this a public hack, which was about 2 days ago.

It says you'd release the first demo in September... it's October :/

I really want to expand my interest in hacks now, so could you release your demo?

Yeah, I neglected this thread unintentionally XD.

    Demo Details:
-Only World 1 accessible (2-1 has a blockage). Note: If you use an AR code to access the rest of the levels, only one or two more levels will be different.
-Essentially, after 2-2, you're playing NSMB and not Super Mario Adventure.
-The castle of World 1 still has a bug or two, but it's nothing that makes it unplayable.

    Here's the first Demo!
    http://www.mediafire.com/?7cnh9a2g96zhg7y

So basically, patch the original NSMB rom with that file.

What's an NMP file? How do I apply the patch to the game?

Use a patching program. If it doesn't work let me know and I'll upload a different patch.
It's just a shame that GBATemp doesn't allow roms :(

The xdelta patch file, Open xdeltaGUI and patch the original New Super Mario Bros Rom.
Details of this Demo version from above still apply in this one :P

Lol I've literally just seen this post. World 1 is meant to be kinda simple... don't worry, after World 2 the difficulty picks up quite a lot.
