Awesome, it's nice that someone translates it.
to be honest though, if your'e translating a summon night game you should have picked Swordcraft story 3.
Swordcraft Story 1 and 2 weren't the first games in this series, they were #6 and 7 and there was even another Swordcraft Story game that didn't come out in english.
Yep, you're right. Before those there were various Summon Night games for the PS1 and the PS2 that never saw PS2 releases.

help me

"
what should i do ??

First of all, make sure you have the actual rom (google it if not)

Then, download software called dsbuff, and use it to unpack the rom.
(Open dsbuff, open the ROM with it, and choose the unpack option to the 'C:\dsbuff\NDS_UNPACK' directory.)

Then, when the unpacked rom is in that folder, extract all the SummonTransX files into the dsbuff folder (C:\dsbuff) and the program should work..

I'm pretty sure Darth's program even came with a README, WHICH WAS PRETTY SELF-EXPLANATORY >_<

If you still cant get it to work, just give up, and wait for my patch. I'll release a menu patch soon when all the essentials are in the game and working

So that people who dont care about the story can have a partially-english patch.

Hello! First, a great project!

Well, I found the initial scroll, there goes a screen

I know it's no big deal, but my Japanese is horrible jeje.

I hope that my help you serve ^^.

THERE IS NO PATCH YET.

There's no reason for any of you to be messing around with the script inserter unless you plan on helping with the translation. It's just a utility for editing the script.

Use the "CristalTile2" with the file "st_ev_scroll_100.bst" in editor mode, menu TBL - code shift-JIS then the text will appear in japanese ^^.

Any doubt ask me, I'll help delighted

So my friend is translating the scroll for me now.

Thanks again, was very helpful.

Does this game has 2 different story lines when choosing the main character (in that case double the text ?).
or it just fits the story according to to the character (with probably little extra to translate ).

Screenshots look great and the font looks good too.

Its pretty much double the text, and each character's story has their own voice clips too.

Which means an insane amount of stuff to translate if both characters' plots are done.

I think some stuff is shared in both, but not much of it. It's a great value game (if only it was localized aaaaargh xD)

Oh and thanks a lot, thank Darth for the font

To use Shift-JIS encoding in CT2, do the following:

1. In the document window, look for the "address" bar at the top. After "0F", you'll see a long box.
2. Click this box and a drop down will appear.
3. Look for "Japanese (Shift-JIS) -code page932"
4. If the game uses the Shift-JIS encoding (most do), you will now see the Japanese.
5. If it doesn't work, there are two possibilities. One is that you have not installed the Japanese language pack for Windows. The other is that the game uses a custom encoding.

is the gameplay like the one for gba?
the gba series were the summon night swordcraft games, which were something similar to Tales games. there are three of them for GBA, one of which has not been localized.
the original summon night games were for playstation 1, and those were strategy tactics games. this one is the third installment of that series.

oh ok cool but isn't this going to be released to north america in english soon?

If it is, it dub this kinda undubing it from the begging.
this is called translating, what big companies do is undub.
oddly, they feel it's necessary to change the voices without adding an optional choice of the two.

if you've ever looked inside a rom, you'd understand why. do you know why games like tales of hearts, world destruction, summon night x or whatever are 256 megabytes? It's not because of pretty graphics. about 100 of those megabytes are the sounds, and another 30-50 are usually the opening movie. if a game does have a choice, it's usually because it doesn't have all that much voicing in the first place.

There are a fair amount of 256MB .NDS ROM files. Tales of Hearts is an example. It has a lot of voiced scenes, not to mention it may be one of the bigger NDS games. 256MB seems to be the limit so far.

Keep up the good work! Hopefully, I'll be able to help after I take Japanese foreign language at my school. Can't wait for it
