Gaming Suitable games for children?

So, my Supercard One arrived in the mail today, so I'm going to gift my old R4 to one of my cousins. However, I'm not really read on the whole children's games for the DS topic. So, anyone have any ideas on what games might suit a 9-ish year old girl? Preferably games that doesn't count too heavily on story, as her English wouldn't be amazing, as you might figure.

You could try Line Rider 2 Unbound (if you can find it), it's great fun, and it's without shooting or anything like that. It's all about making some sort of track, and then letting a guy ride around the track.
And it has a great soundtrack (not that that matters).

Both good suggestions. Taking note of those. I think maybe I'll need to look into what's popular with the kids these days, though. I reckon what games she'll like will be equally dependant on the franchise as the quality of the game. I saw her playing a bratz game, and she loved that. I don't neccessarily mind violence either, as long it's not too intense.

If she's really into basic drawing and free-creation, this would be a good choice. Lastly, I'd have to throw in Animal Crossing: Wild Worldhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Crossing_Wild_Worldhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Crossing_Wild_World. Lots to do and tons of freedom and choices in multiple areas of the game. Good replayability.

Meteos (Not Disney) is a pretty good and easy to pick up and play puzzle game. Super Princess Peach is a fun (slightly girly) platformer.

Call of Duty lol jks. Try Kirby Squeak Squad, Kirby Super Star Ultra, Mario Kart? Not Drawn to Life, a two year old would be bored of that game. New Super Mario Bros., but i don't really recommend Line Rider because the graphics aren't too good. I dunno, your choice mate. Oh and Animal Crossing: Wild World.
