Since my analog just started dying horribly, and it no longer registers pushing it up, I am unable to play most of my favourite games like Dissidia and MH3P (yes I know Dissidia has arrow controls, using that feels weird though)

So, asking you guys if you can help me find interesting games that don't need the analog stick to be played.
What I dislike is racers and sports games. What I like is rpgs and games with good stories.

Suggest away, comrades-in-PSPs!

well, in srpg you can have disgaea 1 and 2, FFT: war of the lions, ogre tactics: let us cling together, la pucelle: jeanne d'arc

else: patapon, loco roco, field commander, metal gear Acid

Why not use JoySens to swap the analog stick and d-pad so you can use the dpad for games that normally need analog?
I tried that in Dissidia, natively. Playing a game that's meant to be played with analog via d-pad just doesn't feel right.
But, Disgaea, jeanne d'arc and Tactics Ogre noted, I still have to beat those.

After fumbling around with Super Mario 64 DS through every confounded star, all I can say is...
Indeed so.

You certainly have my condolences. Having a faulty analog nub very much limits your game library, I imagine.

(Well, so long as I'm here, I might as well pseudo-contribute, then.

I must affirm the recommendation marcus134 made... LocoRoco is most certainly worth playing!)

Blazblue.

MotorStorm Arctic Edge can be set to use the dpad. Then there's no use for the analog stick anymore. Try it, the game is great.
Did you read the OP? He doesn't like racing games.

Pure win. Best game for the psp thus far, well to me that is.

Great game. But strangely I found it TOO deep at times.

Maybe me just nitpicking.

At OP: FFIV Complete collection

Oh sorry. You can always play some terrific games via Gpsp, Fire Emblem is amazing. You'll love that if you liked Tactics Ogre.

PSX games =) 80% of the PSX games doesnt use the analog stick for R2/L2
Try Yu-Gi-Oh Tag force 5 =). Is a TCG and like all TCG, the story fails =)
Yeah, and Final Fantasy IV: Complete collection

Some good PSX games:
Chrono Cross
Xenogears
FF 6-7
Digimon 1-2

You might want to play Chrono Trigger before Croos on SNES unless you prefer loading on each battle. Or on DS if you have a DS

I think that mana khemia and disgaea games don't use the analog stick if you want to play an RPG gives those a try ^^

If I remember correctly the 2 megaman games that came over to America also don't need analog =s

Prinny 1 and 2 all the way, dood! Classic nintendo sony-hard 2D platforming!

other cool stuff:
"short bursts of play" games:

PacMan Championship Edition (Mini)
Pix N' Love Rush (Mini)

addicting, simple games:
Patapons
Me and My Katamari (actually used the DPAD and Buttons by default in the JP original, the US release added analog support)

@ anybody saying to buy a analog to fix the issue: It MIGHT now even be the analog that is messed up; it MAY be a motherboard contact issue.

Also... PERSONA 1 (PSX),2 (BOTH OF THEM, PSX), and 3P!

Fire Emblem, Fire Emblem Sacred Stones, and Fire Emblem Sealed Sword are all EXCELLENT games.
