Homebrew Successful cfw installation then brick?

Is there someone on here that I could contact about trying to repair it?

And since I get no blue light at all no matter what I do, does it seem more likely that it's a horribly timed hardware issue and not a brick? That would still suck, but at least it would make me feel a little better knowing it wasn't my fault.

To answer the question about them finding out it had been hacked is that they may send it back without touching it. I think that's the policy anyway

Yeah, I'm not sending it to Nintendo for sure. It's an extra old one I had access to so it's not a big loss. It's just frustrating that it happened, especially so since it seemed to be working fine after installing everything.

It doesn't seem like there's much I can do on my end at this point since I don't know anything about messing with hardware, so I'll probably either look into asking someone who has the right knowledge to possibly fix it or just leave it be and be stuck with a dead 3DS. Maybe I'll hit the lottery again and it will somehow magically fix itself.

looks like a power issue, did you leave it charging overnight?

It was charging the entire time I installed the cfw. I tried switching the battery out for one that I know for sure works too and that didn't change anything. The battery from the dead system worked in the other 3DS as well, so I don't think the battery itself is the issue.

What a weird accident.

I had something similar back then with the O3DS (when the loose ribbon cable was a common thing) when it decided to not boot up after I closed it and fell asleep (it died during my sleep) blue light came on and cracking sounds could be heard. Didn't know what the hell it was till I watched like 40+ YouTube videos lol.

Sounds like a hardware issue for sure tho. No way A9LH or anything related to the guide installation did that since you completed it already (unless someone or you accidentally messed with something?! ; that's all I can conclude you with)

Yeah, the more responses I get and research I try to do on my own makes it sound more like an ungodly unfortunately coincidental hardware issue instead of a brick. It seemed weird to me as well since like I said everything was successful in installing a9lh, I put it to sleep, did nothing to the 3DS or SD card, and came back to the state it's in.

Now the question just becomes how/if it can be fixed.

Ok so I ordered another battery and charger, swapped the battery and it fired back up, yet didn't fire when I swapped it with a buddies working battery, go figure. so I'm assuming it's trying to send current to the battery and can't and then shuts off.

Might be something that's worth trying if you can get your hands on any friend's batteries/chargers.

I think Nyko makes a battery pack for 3ds? At worst, you should bevable to return it. Maybe Cyber Monday has a deal for you? If absolutely nothing else...you could probably buy the $99.99 N3ds for BF, wait a week, sell it/trade it/keep it.
