Hacking stupid question

i bricked another ds lite today and im wondering, do we have a hard mod for reflashing the firmware? i have a backup this ones firmware but no flashme so can i restore? or do i have another colorful plastic brick to add to my collection?

How did you manage that?
Anyway, a quick google tells me the firmware chip is socketed on the board so it can be easily replaced with a working one. You could have figured that out yourself, you don't need me to google for you.

Also it seems that if you have a working console you can hotswap the firmware chip in order to reflash the bricked one.

i dont want to replace the chip though i do have 5 more working systems but those are fully functional systems
