IF the cops really wanted to, they could get a search warrant for the theives and crap, and find your loot

the kid that stole the shit lives down the block.
the cops have a warrent, searched his room. (his parents let them without a warrent.) both my flash cards were in my ds, he didn't search them out. the ds was just small enough to fit in his pocket and steal. i'm sure he ditched the thing right after because he knew the cops were after him, probably selling it for drugs. and i'm sure whoever has it now, wont be able to appreciate the true value of the flash cards. and definatly wont be able to get the g6 to work, seeing as i have the loader.

3in1 + R4, you can get an R4 fairly cheap with a 1G card, and while you are at it throw on a 3in1 for $15-20 extra. There is a decent program out right now to make use of the 3in1 from any slot 1 cart, and I have been putting in tonnes of work making a menu these last couple weeks for making the most out of the 3in1 (not to mention, with a patch file I made a while back you can also use opera with 3in1, and 3in1 can act as memory expansion for dslinux now too).

It's a decent combo, the simplicity of R4 and GBA support with 3in1 (just don't expect a G6 out of the 3in1, it only has 32Mbytes of flash).

BTW: love my EZ5 too, enough that I keep updating an unofficial save list. It does a few things that R4 cannot for me, chiefly it gives access to the SD card when booting homebrew with wmb, it allows me to replace the menu program with anything I like, it is much more solidly built hardware wise, and more... but for strictly games R4 is great (once you are aware you may need to dismantle it to get the sd slot working again when (not if) the spring breaks).

last night i was actually thinking of just getting another r4, then hoping the 3 in 1 will work with it in the future and pick one of those up.
how much does the 3 in 1 actually work with other flash carts? i'd want the 3 in 1 for gba and opera only, i dont care about rumble.
as long as i can at least play gba games, its totally worth the 20 bucks in my opinion.

exact same thing happened to me, dam punks lol they sell it off quick to make quick money, that's one thing i have learned is to never trust anyone with my games every again, even close ones aren't even allowed to touch my games (if they do i get fuming mad at them, i'm serious) and if i am having guests over my house all my games get packed away securely before anyone comes to visit, can't really blame myself for acting this way, there is far too many foolish punks out there who would take your stuff and exploit your trust.

tbh the police won't do crap all they see it as "petty crime" and it's not really worth it to them, unless you have insurance that is ¬_¬

Quite well, actually (unless you really mind waiting for a game to flash to NOR when you want to switch). Even the test release app is doing quite well and it is functionally bare. Basically there are still a few niggles to work out with the save system (EZ4 client patches them a bit funny, so starting it from the DS menu as a GBA cart doesn't always work out well) and it'll be great for one at a time GBA games. Browser is working fine with the patch I made running from an R4. Rumble is here and there, I imagine cheat codes (now that R4 supports it) could be made for games you want to rumble.

The save list for EZ5 keeps track of the ROM internal name and gamecode, and which save type it is. There are a bunch of different save chips, EEPROM and FLASH chips, as well as different sizes on retail carts. The save list tells EZ5 which save chip to emulate, and if it is not set correctly most games will either white screen or give a save error message. R4/M3DSS basically just backs up the entire save chip, and forces the game to use that chip instead of using actual sized save files and chip emulation.

so is there a file you put onto the r4, that will load the gba games onto the 3 in 1?
does it take care of gba save files too?
i don't really mind one game at a time, since i normally try to beat one before the other.
