Hacking steam on the 3ds? o.O

so, i was randomly looking through the files on my 3ds's flashcard and i came across something odd..... i found a steam.sav file. o.O its labelled as 00000001.sav and when i click it, it reads " steamstartup0 failed, blah blah blah. anyone care to explain?

Using that logic the DSi and every implementation of the DS would have Steam.

I don't even. What would there be to talk about? I promise you 99.99% of the threads would be spam. The ONE thread that would not be spam atm would be one that says "ok. wiiu haz tablet controllerz". Honestly, the wiiu's specs haven't even officially been revealed. There's like 20 revealed games, and the system won't be out for at least another 11 months (assuming Nintendo doesn't delay it like they love to do).

Give it 7-8 more months until a wiiu section, by then E3 will come and there will be enough info to start discussing LEGIT information. Right now the only information confirmed by Nintendo can be summarized in a single thread.

I'm pretty sure that's Half-Life 2/Source's fault. It adds an entry in the registry to open .sav files with hl2.exe. It happened to me as well.

It's not that impossible.
there are a lot of rumors talking about the possibility of a partnership between nintendo + steam for WiiU.
so it can happen on 3DS too.

(i'm not saying it will happen, but it's possible.)

I've noticed that too, and never knew why my computer associates the .sav files with Steam.

Errrr, I mean, yeah! They just put it on the eShop under applications! It's about time they brought Steam to the 3DS! /sarcasm.

3DS != WiiU. ARM processor? Do you have any idea how long it would take to port everything to the ARM processor to run on the 3DS especially factoring in most system requirements for Steam games? If they're only talking about it now that means it's unlikely that development has even started yet. When it does start it's unlikely it will be on both considering the DS and 3DS use ARM and the Wii uses PPC, I think it's a safe bet the WiiU won't be using PPC making it so they'd have to port it to two foreign systems.

All this considered Steam took long enough to port to Mac and won't even port to Linux which is an extremely small step from Mac. Conclusion: Safe to say it's not possible. Then again you can argue anything's possible. You should also see Valvetime.

Offtopic: I think if steam was ported to something it would be far more likely to see it on an XBox or a Playstation anyways. As for portable consoles, we would sooner see it on the Vita and if that happened it would be far more likely for us to see in on the 3DS though still, it probably wouldn't happen because the Vita's processing power is pretty intense in comparison.

imagine, a CFW where when you suspend the game instead of the 3DS menu it goes to steam
