Misc Steam link!

I would like to stream from PC to TV using Steam and have looked at the Steam Deck and Lenovo Legion Go but none of the stores have them in stock near where I live so I can buy and pick it up, they only have it online and then it has to be shipped. but I can find a gaming laptop in stock that I can buy and pick up. That's why I asked, just need something to stream games to TV.

I believe you would have gotten a better response if you'd ask about the "Gaming Laptop" for running Steam games first.

well then! Don't I have great news for you!

You just need the software "Sunlight" on the PC with your games on. Then the client "Moonlight" which is on the Google Playstore. You connect it against Sunshine and run your games via it. All games! Not just Steam games.

I'm going to try that when I'm getting myself a new gaming laptop, thank you for suggestion

hell you can do it today with you current setup :D

Btw, I actually used this very laptop to use Sunshine and moonlight on my Android TV. Works great! Via wifi even

Another option is a wireless HDMI setup. The prices have come down a lot. Chances are you are looking for a free solution, but I thought I should at least throw it out there.

I would recommend a gaming desktop for streaming games and wired ethernet. GTA V enhanced + most games at 4k will destroy any gaming laptop because you need a lot of cooling. It's preferable also that your TV be wired on the network for steady gameplay but not necessary. You can also use the laptop that you already have to play werever you want. The most modern hardware is also optimised for this, so get the newest one you can.
