*update - IT DOES!! Right now, this file should be considered the holy grail of the scene.
you can put a disc in at any time and turn power off/on and the menu will stay patched!!
I've tried it with about 10 backups and every single one worked including HOTD and SSBB

Sorry but Im still kinda lost.

If I install this will I be able to use both Wii and Gamecube backup launchers? Can you also install wads and run them from the SD? I updated to 4.0 so now I cant install any cIOS or any backups and stuff. Will this allow me to install channels like Backup launcher 002 fix? If so please let me know I will install right away.

no i'm talking about CIOS60BF.
StartPatch only loads the backup through the disc channel when you run the patcher, so you have to go to it every time you want to load a backup.
with CIOS60BF the system menu will automatically be patched when you turn on your wii, just like with preloader.

I am having the no region free channels when launching from SD issue.
All the channels I patched with free the wads work from nand and SD, but my other region ones only work from nand.

When you install the cios60 wad it just overwrites whatever was there. If you run the patcher afterwards it should work fine unless, like you asked, it does a hash check on the file but I kind of doubt it. It probably just checks each memory location and makes sure it's legit before it patches.

i cant get this to show up in my homebrew channel. i might be putting it in the wrong folder in the sd card so ima ask where do i put this file in the sd at? also do i rename it boot.dol or keep it the same?

dunno, I dont use startpatch, all i know is that its for 4.0 and i'm using preloader 0.29 for that now sorry lol

yeah i was looking at preloader .29 but do i need to install the previous version first cause i already am on 4.0.

no, preloader 0.29 is the only preloader that works on 4.0, so use that

if you're on about the startpatch hacks you have, load up the startpatch app in the HBC and then highlight the hack you want to remove and press B to uninstall it.
