I installed this yesterday on my PAL system . The update from disc blocker works and the warningscreen hack works , but the regionfree channels feature dont work. They installed fine both of them , but all my ntsc wiiware\vc gives me the "this app can not be loaded" error . usual region error .

Any fixes on the horizon?
If you get that error when launching from SD, it might be that your IOS60 doesn't allow for trucha signed channels. Have you tried running them directly from NAND?

My IOS 60 is patched. All my pal wiiware signed in the same way or with freethewads run fine . I get that error when i run ntsc wiiware from SD , when i run them from sysmenu I just get a black screen .

It seems to be something else. The region free channels patch won't work for me either (on a US NTSC system), and my channel was legitimately purchased from the Japanese shop channel. It won't from from SD or Nand (though I didn't expect it to run from SD).

Anyway, do you have cIOS installed? If so, try downgrading your IOS using Wanikoko's IOS downgrader. All I know is that I haven't had any problems installing anything here.

Out of curiosity, what method did everyone who upgrading to 4.0 that is getting the error -1017 use?

If you used icefire's method, that is likely the reason. Startpatcher probably does a system menu version check. Icefire's installer patches the 4.0 reader to be versions 285-286-287 (if I'm not mistaken) which makes the system menu's appear to be a version below 4.0 as a form of brick protection... So you can see why you'd be getting the error then.

If that is true for everyone that is getting the error, the best bet would be to downgrade then to either use the official installer and repatch your IOS, or use waninkoko's installer (just remember to have at least 300 blocks of freespace on your wii's memory before using)

You could be on to something their i used a IOS60-64-NUS-V6174 that i ran through free the wads, i did not use icefire's or waninkoko's installer at all,but as its working from sd as i wanted i dont know if i could be bothered to go through it all again though im curious now.......

koji, i installed ios 60 patched then updated with nintendo real update
i'll try to patch ios 60 again

I used icefireicefire's installer (HERE). It patched the Trucha bug back into the IOS, but I don't think it patched /dev/flash access back.

I upgraded from System Menu 3.2, and IOS30 was left untouched. (It's a version with the Trucha bug and /dev/flash access.) Maybe StartPatch should use that? Or maybe cIOS?
