Dude... my imported retail games: Disaster, MHG, MH3 Demo and Biohazard Zero doesn't work on StartPatch 4.2.2!!!

Do you have removed the "region free wii games" patch??
I will have to return to 4.2.0...

The "Region Free Wii Games" patch was not working correctly. It was consistently giving Black & White screens, and people were complaining. It has been removed, until this "glitch" has been solved.

If you want to risk the problems, here are the links to previous versions of StartPatch v4.2.x...
StartPatch v4.2.0U
StartPatch v4.2.1U

Good Luck!

I get error 1017 when trying to run. Do I need a trucha-signed IOS60?
You need an IOS36 that has the ES_IDENTIFY patch...trucha maybe as well. That reminds me...a feature request if possible. could you change it to use either 249, or 222? Better yet, a choice between the two. That way we don't have to patch IOS36 for it to work.

The Next Update will contain a IOS-Reload to IOS250, i felt it was a good choice sense Nintendo updates doesn't remove it and most people have it installed, Also if IOS250 is not installed it will tell you how to contain it. I felt this was best cause theres really no sense in someone going threw the trouble of patching IOS36 when they have a prefectly good IOS to Use
Just Waiting on someone to bring out a Wii Region Free patch

i'm guessing them are JP Imports, it would be weird if JP imports actually work using the region free patch cause PAL do not, But i've read from many members on here that it doesn't work so i removed it, I couldn't even get it to work on Pal Imports myself But if you really want the Old Patch sure you can keep using the Older Version that contains it

I'm a little confused; I know I have to patch the ios36 but my HBC is running with ios36 so if I patch it the channel will be upside down :S

what if I trucha, and install the hacks with the upsidedown hbc and then normalize the ios36 again after installing them; will that work or do the hacks get disabled the moment I download a clean ios?

or what should I do to change the ios that HBC uses to run?

I was going to wait to release until someone fixed region free but that doesn't look like its going to happen any time soon

you can get the newest build from WiiBrew V4.2.3 it loads from IOS250 instead of IOS36 other than that theres no really no benefit or updates to the Patches but you no longer have to patch IOS36

StartPatch v4.2.3x has been released.

Changelog:
  • StartPatch now loads using IOS250. If you don't have a valid IOS250, it will tell you what to do.
  • Reduced the Recovery GC Pad Patch one patch.
  • Removed Force IOS249 patch.

Reload to IOS-250, it keeps you from having to patch IOS36 like in earlier versions

Force IOS249, Was really useless and should not have beeen in startpatch to begin with, Its really only useful to preloader users

EDIT:
IMPORTANT TO SNEEK IOS USERS
IT seems Sneek Also Uses IOS250 same as StartPatch, i guess i didn't see this coming.lol Anyways the Source is Available to Everyone So Feel Free to edit the Source to Load off the IOS of your Choice.
But for now if you Have Sneek Installed to IOS250 and try to Lauch StartPatch it will Load Sneek instead, You could use StartPatch before Installing Sneek to avoid this Problem then use Startpatch to load it.lol
Sorry about That

edit: UPDATE Sneek V2 will not have this, so nothing to worry about

Talked to crediar about this yesterday. When SNEEK v2 is released, it will not use a specific IOS to load.

I tried installing but I needed the CIOS 250 --so I installed that.
So when I tried installing it again, it tries to go, but then gives me "ISFS Open Error -106" o_O!?

Does ANYONE know what this means? And is there anything I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance...
Using a normal NTSC Wii with version 4.1.

StartPatch v4.1 does NOT use IOS250, only StartPatch v4.2.x does.

Why was force IOS249 removed? Surely that patch was useful to people who wanted disc channel backup loading? Not that I support backups at all, I was just curious as to why you would remove such a patch...

Cause it only caused 002 errors and it didn't load backups in the disc channel anyways, So what purpose would it have had

It didn't? Wasn't that the whole point of the patch?

it did on some games, and the system menu could only load backups in the disc channel if the system menu was patched to use IOS249 and there is not a StartPatch Patch the can do that currently that i know of.

edit: And without patching the system menu to use IOS249 the force Disc ios249 is useless, Best if left to preloader sense it can do this property without brick risk, if IOS249 is missing

This would enable people to just dip patch the system menu ios and then launch backups from system menu. Since normally the only way to have a dip-module in your system menu ios is by installing cIOSCorp or the like, most people would swap all ios:es anyway, thus making this patch redundant.
