Guys, I need help with Starcraft. For some reason, it cuts off the borders, and when people talk online, you can't tell who it is.

I still need help with this... If it makes a difference, I'm using an LCD screen.

Better suggestion would still be a PVPGN server or get a cd key and go on battle net

I still have problems with SC. The borders are cut off, and I can't host maps. I tried going into my router so I could do something with the ports, but it won't let me. The guide says the password is "admin" but it just won't work.

On the topic of SC, did you guys hear that they are making it a trilogy? I'm not sure which I would rather get, the Protoss or the Terran... (I hope there's going to be a bigger and better map editor than before!

yeah they're makin a trilogy. a money grubbing technique if i ever saw one, but being the sc whore that i am, i'm gonna get all 3 >.>

nope. terran first (sometime this year)
then zerg next (a year later)
then protoss (a year after zerg)

Speaking of which, is there an official release date? I've heard from different sources that it's coming out in February, May, and June. I want to know the exact month.

Well.. It's supposed to be release sometime in later this year, I'll probably get it for Christmas. I guess Blizzard has a beta that you can opt in, but they only select a few with good system specifications. So I probably won't get in (but hopefully I can buy my own laptop by the time Christmas comes around.)

Has anyone seen any of the battle reports? So far there have only been three, but I hope that there will be more soon.

The reason I bumped this is because I'm so hyped for this game right now!

I checked out all the battles reports good stuff to watch, when the SC2 map editor is released im going to jump on making some Impossible Scenarios.

UMS Yes!, I used to make custom maps, so fun. I played a crap ton Impossible Scenarios type maps, (the ones you get like 1-8 units for your self) and each team member that joined the game with you get the same number/varying amount units but different types. And you and your team must survive a very difficult map together with team work or the map is really impossible.

I think gbatemp should have a starcraft night and everyone logs into channel #gbatemp on useast or uswest whatever and goes at it. Use Map settings, melee whatever, and for those who don't play can take spectator slots.

Well, I think we all know what big day tomorrow is.. Thing is, the computer I use is crap, (ATI x1300 256MB video card, really?) so I plan on buying and building my own probably for Christmas this year. The reason I'm saying this is because I won't be able to play Starcraft 2 before then, which is rather unfortunate..

Anyway, it has been several years (4 maybe?) since I actually played the campaign, and I don't quite remember what really happened in the end of Brood war, or much of the two games for that matter.. My question is if you guys think I will be able to understand plot-wise of what's going on in SC2. Or maybe, if it's worth playing through the original campaign again (although I would feel kind of far behind).

Also, no spoilers please.. If you must, use the spoiler tags.

You are gonna be handicapped against those who played the beta or everyone if you wait that until christmas for a new comp, if your going to play multiplayer. SC2 will recap the events of what happened, so you really don't even have to have played the SC/BW. Considering there is 12 year gap between the SC2 and SC/BW, there will be a large number of people who never played SC/BW before.

Just mostly stimpack addicts and blue mouthless people :[.

GBAtemp should organize a SC2 party/irc-chat during one of the wifi nights they have
