Gaming star power vs invincibility

everyday in school me and my friends have a big mario kart game with our ds's. and every time they get the star they say that they have invincibility. i try to tell them that its star power but since they are all being jerks they just say im wrong and that star power is from guitar hero not mario kart. quite frankly im tired of this nonsense so tell me what do you call it star power or invincibility

They used to call those stars in classic Mario games "Starman". It certainly doesn't matter what you call it since it makes you invincible. Just let your friends call it invincible and they can let you call it a star or whatever.
