They've changed the voices a bit

I like the original voice acting better.

Just watched the solar gameplay, that is one crap voiceover.
That's called the 90s.

I meant how they said it, not what they said.

I feel they should have an option to listen to the original voice overs rather than the new ones.

Actually I didn't even know there were new VAs.

Personally, I don't remember the 64 version having big hype behind it either.

Not a lot of hype, but it sold very, very well when it did come out, though a lot of that might have been down to the lack of games on the 64 at the time...which sounds oddly familiar =/

The graphics upgrade appears to be way more significant in starfox 64 3d than oot 3d. I think it'd be a great game for at least long trips if nothing else. The idea of a handheld isn't that you'd be sitting at home playing it, it's that you'd be moving arround.

I remember getting a tape in the mail for it before it came out. It was really goofy, it had thugs wearing "SEGA" and "SONY" shirts torturing a Mario doll in order to get information from an Nintendo guy. It was truly bizarre.

Found it on Youtube:

Anyways, this is one of my most anticipated titles. It's one of my all favorite games and I think it will look incredible in 3D.

That was nostalgia at its finest.

Epic burn at the end too:
"Hey, let me see that!"
"You can buy it at the STORE!"

I also like how they changed Starfox64.com into the Starfox 64 3D home page. Very clever.

I've actually pre-ordered it myself. I've been checking out so many videos about this game on the 3DS. Ahh... the nostalgia

Guild, I'm starting to think you just like bashing everything about the 3DS. The game has updated graphics and 3D added. Personally, I think it's worth it.

...Which of course every gamer realizes don't make a game, right? We've come to expect more from our remakes, not essentially a fancy port.

I'm not hating on the 3DS "just 'cause", I'm hating on it because I realize what the problem is and I'm not blind to it just because Nintendo can do no wrong.

EDIT: But you know what, it's ShadowSoldier's thread, I'll let him have fun with it.

To each their own... What you say is wrong others say is right and vice versa. Meh... Made myself look like a hypocrite, oh well.

Definitely getting this. Actually beat this legit all the way through on the 64 53 times in one week. Not joking. o.O

Day 1 purchase for me. It was one of the main reasons I bought the 3DS.

People who say they won't get it because it doesn't have online or because they have already beaten it a few times when they were a kid don't quite understand the appeal of Star Fox 64. I'm not suggesting everyone should foam at the mouth over it but it's a timeless classic, the gameplay hasn't aged a bit and it has near infinite replayablilty. It's one of the very few games I never get bored with, it takes a lot of practice to get medals on every stage.

I've played Star Fox 64 on a few different systems from VC to PC emulation and the only way to play it properly is on the N64 with the original controller, nothing else feels right. I just hope Nintendo have done the controls justice with the 3DS circle pad.

The gameplay hasn't aged, I agree. But to say that it has "near infinite replayability" is more an opinion that a fact. Many people go through the stages one time and get all the endings but don't want to get through it again to get medals and things like that.

The problem is that this is barely a remake, they just upgraded the graphics and added a proper multiplayer that is NOT online. Now, that may seem as the most-posted rant but that's one feature that could've be included to convince many.
So, this is not worth $40. I'm not paying $40 for playing my StarFox 64 cartridge in my 3DS with better graphics. I love the game, mind you, but I could easily get everything in a short time once I get over learning the controls. Make it $20 and I buy it. Also, as a side note, games here are expensive as hell for every console and I have no plans to go to the US, so I couldn't buy it either way.

I wouldn't pay 40 dollars for it either unless they put online multiplayer in it, there's seriously no excuse to not have it. That being said, it's still is a great game and worth the money. I think these remakes are for people who haven't played the original games before and want to play them, but not be stuck playing a 10 year old looking game. It's for the people who fell in love with a game, and for years have continued wanting to play it with a fresh look, or just portably whenever they want.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about these remakes so much. The games are easily worth 40 dollars, shit I bought OoT for N64 maybe 4 years ago and the game still cost me 20 bucks. OoT gave us the Master Quest which we never had except gamecube, greatly revamped graphics, a mirrored mode to the Master Quest so even if you did play it on GC it was different, as well as adding other smaller things to do when you were done with it like the boss challenges. I don't know how you can say the game isn't worth 40 dollars, especially for the people who have never played it before.

I spent 40 dollars 10 years ago on some of these N64 games, and I'm completely willing to spend 40 on them again when they are worth it like OoT was, however starfox is looking like a serious let down. I don't know one single person in real life who has a DS, let alone fucking call them up and say "hey let's go play our DSs together". I know it's mainly for kids, but not even that many kids have them. You need to add online multiplayer, it's the only way this will work. No one is walking around on the street hoping to find someone to connect to to play starfoxes gimpy excuse of multiplayer.

TLDR: This game is going to be shit compared to the OoT remake, if you have played it before don't get it. If you have never played it, then buy it because the game is definitely worth 40 dollars especially with it being updated.

Oh there is.
A. It's not F**kin Star Fox Command.
B. 64's multiplayer wasn't that popular in the first place
C. This is basically a pure remake, so only Local is needed.
