Lady: I want this, but for 2009.
Me: We don't have the 2009 calendars out yet.
Lady: But you have them?
Me: Yes, we have received them but we haven't started bringing them out yet.
Lady: But I need the 09 calendar and I don't live close.
Me: Sorry, we don't have 2009 out yet.
Lady: How hard would it be for you to go find it.
Me: Well, we have about 4,000 pounds of 2009 calendars back there shrink wrapped, in boxes, on shrink wrapped pallets.
Lady: Why aren't they out?
Me: Because right now we have to get the 40 pallets of back to school stuff out.
Lady: When will they be out?
Me: Whenever we get to them.
*So the lady tromps off bugging every employee about the calendars to no avail.

Man: I can't find this paper.
*He hands me part of a box.
Me: We don't carry the 3 part dot matrix printer paper anymore. All we have is 1 part.
Man: You used to have it.
Me: Yes. We stopped carrying it.
Man: Fine, I'll go somewhere else then.
*He walks out and 30 seconds later he walks back in.
Man Um, is there an Office Max or Office Depot anywhere around here?
Me: Yep, there's an Office Max just around the corner.
Man: Thanks.

Why can't staples learn from car companies...they always seem to have the next years model out even at the beginning of the year. IE 2009 model in Feb-March of 08.

I have definitely asked for directions to another store from the store I am at. They looked cross at me but I got the info and no shame doing it =)

Every time I read a blog article about retail store/ebay experience/staples, I know the number of *insert negative word here* customers has increased by one.

The second guy is cute =P

The second story reminds me of how I used to work at Pizza Pizza (an Ontario pizza restaurant). Some guy came in and asked where Pizza Hut was.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
