Hi, I have a problem booting up SSBB on my Configurable USB Loader. I've downloaded Hermes cIOS and the latest version of d2x, but whenever I try to boot SSBB, it just hangs on a black screen. I've tested with other games to make sure that it wasn't a universal problem. Other games work fine, but SSBB just stays on a black screen without starting. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you.

I think I figured out my problem, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to download cIOSX rev 18, but I'm not sure how do so. Any ideas?

Hermes and d2x has nothing to do with DIOS MIOS so it's not that

When I tried loading the game with IOS 249, which has cios38 rev18, I get a black screen. Same thing with IOS 222, which has Hermes cios v4 installed. Any help would be appreciated, it's really bothering me...

EDIT:
I'm using 16gb Kingston Data Traveler usb drive in FAT32 format. I've already tried formatting it to wbfs, but it won't work.

Hi mate, just tried booting it on my wii (haven't played it in ages), works fine for me. IOS 249, using d2x v8. I suggest you update your IOS to d2x v8 and try again (there's compiled versions you can download do a search on mediafire - you'll also need wad manager v1.7 for those versions). They'll just overwrite the old versions on your system, so you can always reinstall cios38, or whatever you want, back into that slot at another time.

I think I have d2x v10 on IOS 249 though.

EDIT:
Never mind, I'm stupid, I don't have v10. I'll look for v6, thanks!

Yeah, no ya don't, lol. "When I tried loading the game with IOS 249, which has cios38 rev18..." If in doubt, in cfg loader click settings > ios and it will tell you what's installed.

Still no good, black screen...
I've tried cios38 rev 17, cios rev 18, d2x v8, d2x v6 all for IOS 249, Hermes cios for both 222 and 223, and they've all given me black screens... The strangest one was with IOS 222, because the wiimote still has it's lights on. I don't know what's wrong... Other games work just fine... I can't rip my copy of Brawl through CFG because the disc drive is broken. Is there anything that I can do?

All I can confirm is that Brawl (NTSC) works, for me, with d2x v8 using IOS 249 (the default). I have the complete game ripped from the disc, not a "downsized" version, etc. I just tried 222-mload, it also booted fine. I don't know what you're doing, but it works perfectly for me. I'm using CFG Loader Mod r51 (but the loader shouldn't matter), and a USB stick formatted FAT32. You might want to make sure your USB drive is formatted as FAT32 and not NTFS? Besides that I don't know what could be causing you a problem, unless it's a bad WBFS file?

I know it's a FAT32 file, I've tried formatting it to other types, but it won't work; it always stays at FAT32. I converted the ISO into split wbfs files using the Wii Backup Manager, and I made sure that the ISO was clean and a good rip. I'm running a 4.0U firmware Wii. Would a syscheck help? What else have you downloaded?

Please, any help would be appreciated. I tested with Mario Strikers Charged and Twilight Princess, and they both work. The rip of SSBB that I have is clean, so I believe that the problem is somewhere in my Wii. Is there anything that I'm missing?

Mine shows IOS245-IOS251 as d2x, yours doesn't. But in any case, you probably downloaded a bad copy or a "hacked version" of SSBB. As I've repeatedly said, the game boots fine for me from a clean-rip.

I see... Again the problem is that my Wii can't read discs properly anymore, so I'm unable to rip games directly through the CFG Usb Loader. I don't know what to do.

EDIT:
But, I would like to know how to rip a game through CFG with cIOS 222. Could you tell me how to do it? I apologize.

Well you can always use a compatible LG drive with your PC:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/471073

I can confirm that this method works, as it is how I originally ripped my GC discs before there was an easier way to rip straight from the Wii. And in fact, I believe the LG drive I have in my computer at present is still compatible with this method (alas, I don't have the time nor will to try it when ripping from the Wii is easier and faster). Or use a better torrent then the last one. Here's what my rip looks like:

Notice the size is 7,618,953,216 bytes split across 2 files.
