Honestly, don't take this the wrong way, but I've been fairly disappointed in the last few textures. If you look at the description of the Brawl Texture Swapping project in Ghosteo.net, you'll notice it says:

Ah. This is actually a very valid point.

At the outset of the project, this was something I really pushed for. I thought "limiting" the scope to video game characters was the best plan, and fit well with the things we were doing.

However, our artists are...well, they're artists! So naturally as time progressed they started thinking of things they thought would be cool and fun, and so they went ahead and did them. As much as I agree (and I really do 100%) that keeping the scope at "just video game characters" would have been a good way to develop the project, ultimately this is a group collaboration and hence everyone in the group must be happy with what they are doing. If that means our artists make about 6 or 7 "off-topic" characters out of the 76ish total when they are feeling freaky, than I don't really think it's much of a compromise.

There are I think only 2 or 3 more "off topic" textures. The rest remain in the "video game" vein. I think Luke Skywalker isn't as bad as the Nickelodeon stuff, but ultimately I'm pleased with how everything came out.

So yes, your criticism is incredibly valid, I'd just like to admit that to you. I'm glad you agree that the overwhelming majority of our textures, which ARE video game honors, make up for our artist's wild side

EDIT: Oh, and on the note of Lucas....you will not be disappointed with his second swap.
 
When you first made this thread I asked when these wonderful swaps were going to be made available for download. You said that sunday.
I am completely unable to find the files to download though. Could you point me in the right direction? I'm feeling pretty dumb here not being able to find them, and a lot of these swaps are REALLY good. I wanna play em.

We were releasing 20 textures on that sunday, but then project sort of grew legs and arms and became a living creature. Ultimately we decided instead of 20 costumes we would do 2 costumes per character and release it all at once. Nothing has been posted for download.

We have nearly completed our 2-texture-per-character goal (we are above 90%). I will of course keep this thread informed.
