Hi everyone, I'm trying to get a copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl to work on mi vWii, its a wbfs file and using USB Game Loader GX, when trying to play the game i get a black screen and then sent back to the Hombrew Channel.

Now i thought maybe it was caused by something i did or maybe the Transferring program i was using (Wii Bakcup Fusion) was doing something wrong but then i started looking around and checked the logs on WBF and saw something weird, from the second I load SSBB onto WBF it already shows up many errors, without even doing anything!

This is a copy from the WBF's log window, all that i did is load the game onto WBFS

    Code:
    Loading games from images...

    WIT command line:
wit LIST-LLL --titles /Applications/Wii Backup Fusion.app/Contents/wit/titles.txt --recurse /Users/pv/Games/RSBE01 Super Smash Bros Brawl --rdepth 10 --section --verbose --progress

I can't find anyone else with this problem and no other game does this, only thing is i don't own any other dual layered games so i can't verify if this happens to all DL games.

Thanks so much for any help!

Why not Install the disk to the HDD from USB Loader GX. you could always rip the game to iso via CleanRip 2.0 (allows ripping Wii games in vWii) then use Wii Backup Fusion to install the iso to hdd.

it sounds like the rip of SSBB you got is corrupt. do the above and its guaranteed to work unless your disk is damaged/lost/don't own it. if its any of these , "acquire" another wbfs or iso and install that.

My SSBB disk is broken, that's the reason i decided to sofmod my wii U haha, regarding what you said about acquiring another, unfortunately i have tried with at least 4 different wbfs and even an iso which I turned into a wbfs, all of which users said worked flawlessly. I guess I'll have to rent the game since i can see no way around this.. what i find weirdest of all is the fact that just loading the game results in errors.

If the image is good, then all that leaves is that the program used.
Try using Wii Backup Manager instead of Wii Backup Fusion. that's what I use and it has yet to fail me.

For me WiiBackupManager always failed to transfer Brawl for some reason. It's the only game I've ever seen it do that to, but I'm sure the dump is correct as I can run it without any issues and I dumped it myself. Try manually copying the wbfs file?

driverdis i'm on a mac so i have very limited options regarding back up managers, i even had two other laying around.. witgui and some other which i never got to work, what i did use them for though was to check for similar problems loading the file on each one, and they all gave me the same errors, which to me meant the file was actually corrupt... I had a Brawl iso lying around, i loaded that and had no problems but when transferring it to the HDD i got a "file too large" error on the log even though i had the split option set to 4G all i did after that was turn it down to 2G and it finally worked! :D I cant say i know what the whole thing meant or why it happened unfortunately :(

Arras I really have no idea how to dump a game manually :(

Anyway thank you both so much for your help!

You can't dump it manually if your disk is broken anyway... but most USB loaders have an option somewhere to dump the current disk to USB.
