Hey,

Just wanted to make sure...
Should i get Verbatim DVD+R DL or Memorex DVD+R DL???
And does there exist different versions of memorex? Can only find a pack with 10 DVD+R DL (Up to 8x)

verbatim is not the king anymore......

there are many problems with that disk
i use arita and it works fine

I've bought the first spindle I came across in some cheesy electronic store. The guy only had "Platinum" discs. They looked very cheapo, but it was at the end of the day and I really wanted to try SSBB that night.

Well, it turned out those disc were pretty good, as I have not encountered one single error or lock up.

The game is INCREDIBLY AWESOME!!!! I already love it just as much as Mario Galaxy

i burned 2 verb +R DL and both were buggy and stuttered at the intro movie.

the only discs i could buy at 11pm were Fuji +R DL and the first one burned worked PERFECTLY. no green errors, all movies play smoothy, no freeze.

ill still take verbs for DVD5 but only Fuji DL disc from now on

From what I heard Fujifilm is Ritek D01, same as Memorex. They are pretty crappy, according to a quick Google search.

Memorex DVD+R has always worked for me, pretty much for all tasks.
I've heard a lot of good things about Verbatim on this board until now, but it's a cheaper brand. I found a 50 dvd+r pack of Verbatim for $17 today... I got it just incase you guys were right. Besides I don't have to use those for Brawl now, since I already used a Memorex.

im sure i heard somewhere that dvd+r are bad for the wii lens is that true or was i just dreaming it lol (what a strange dream if i was)

All DVDRs, + or -, are worse for the wii lens than commercial games. There's no difference.

I just bought a bunch of verbatim DLs off newegg, I hope they don't turn out to be crappy T_T

it depends on a lot of factors.. for non-dual layers i have the best experience with tdk dvd-r's (but can't get a hold of verbatims easily so havent tried those)
but for dual layer discs it'll probably be different again
