This is great news to wake up to, hearing progress being made for us Wiikey users. Hopefully in the next couple days the Wiikey team will have something out.

WiiNewz contacted the Wiikey Team in regards to compatibility issues with "Super Smash Brothers Brawl." Here are their exclusive comments...

It has just been made aware to us that SSB does not work with wiikey.
We are looking into it and are also working on a dual layer disc
dumper, so that any update hopefully will be compatible with a backup
of the game.

the ONLY thing different with the Wiikey team is that they no longer have a website. All the website was good for was to be flooded when a new protection comes out. They release the updates to scene sites anyways, not their own.

They have never done anything to make us doubt them, and i dont expect them to do so now. They have a very large %age of the modded community counting on them and they are good with getting things done. its hard to be patient when its a game like this!!!

Japanese Wii + Legit Brawl + Wiikey = Doesn't work? Why?

So assuming that is true, it would mean that I'd need to update the chip to play a LEGIT BRAWL + WiiKey + NTSC-U Wii, right?

I thought legit games didn't conflict with the chip? Don't tell me I have to remove my chip or to do that external install.... ugh.

Legit Brawl won't work with Wiikey because the Wiikey does NOT support WII DL DVDs. And Brawl is a WII DL DVD. And no, Nintendo did NOT create a uber protection, its just the wiikey who epic failes this time .. again. But hey, good that the wiikey team is working on that problem .. I hope so!

What I posted in BC-G:

We read the information on the disc and it seems to be around 7.8~7.9gb. Now we are not sure if this is the true game file size. There might be a dummy file that takes up extra space. I can tell you this, the pictures of the game disc with all the files are fake. Currently until last night there was no way to dump DL Wii games. So I'll keep you updated, it's taking over 8hrs.
