Honestly what's the point of region locking ?


To sell more copies! If they released a game over here in the US that was region free, people all over the world could just import it and play. And when the game finally does come out in their own region, they won't buy it because they already have the other copy.

Yeah... but the imported copy is a bought one too isn't it? Then they sell the same amount don't they?

My friend from japan who works at whatever the name of that camera shop is and he informed me that the demo disks were half disks (ala gamecube) and wouldn't dump through "normal means" and he's going to bring a gamecube game tomorrow (since Japan is ~12 hours ahead of the US he should be going to work in 6 hours) and get back to me about it.
