Why can't they just release rehashes of FF games like they have been doing for awhile now? You telling me they can't do the same thing for KH's 1 and 2? I mean how many people can still play those games without a PS2? If they rehash and polish KH's 1 and 2 while releasing it for the Wii than maybe it will build the hype back up for KH 3. Maybe...

I think the only reason why they haven't done that yet is because those games would take a lot more money and time to do than what they've been doing with FF so far. I mean, notice how they've only been porting and remaking the NES & SNES FFs? I figured since they aren't as complicated to do because they weren't very large games nor do Square bother remaking them with 3D graphics (With the exception of IV DS), it's a lot easier for them to work with and those remakes and ports are still managing to rake in profits for them somehow.

In terms of money, no one cares if it's shit or not. There's still hordes of devoted fans that buy unnecessary spin-offs (WTF was the point of Coded again?) every single time they come out. KH is a pretty good money-maker actually.

FFXIV is really the culprit here. No one buys it anymore, they removed all monthly fees and it's a huge failure critically.

I hate to keep talking about the major series, but for me the problem is that they spread titles belonging to the same series out over so many consoles that it actually prevents people who would be interested from buying them. I don't own every current gen console, and I doubt I'm the only one.

I loved Chrono Cross too! I think it is waaay better than FFVII... I don't know, after all these years of hype about FFVII I just hate it now, it wasn't that good.

And.... Dragon Quest V anyone? The game's just awesome. I mean I'm a father of a 2 month old boy... in the game when you get seperated from your children, i wanted to cry!! lol

And I still need to finish IV (Just washed up on shore), VI (Near the beginning, right after you get the Monk), VII (In the Crater), VIII(I technically beat it, but it was someone else's file and I didn't play through most of the game), IX (SPOILERS: Just left Alexandia after the big battle between Kuja and Brahne), X (Sold it. Don't remember where I was and I don't care), and XII (I really hate this game and don't want to beat it, but I started over because I sold it years ago, bought it back for some stupid reason, and forgot the story...I hate this game).

@ Machomuu: Long story short: the latest additions to the Final Fantasy series are garbage.

I HATE XII, XII, and XIV. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

XII was interesting and they pulled off online pretty decent actually. with some good expansion packs and everything.

X was AWESOME when it came out. Looking back it was a joke. I tried playing it and it has NOT aged well.

I am playing IV now, on the PSP remake. I am loving it but I really wish they would give some love to the other games in the series. A enhanced, non chibi form of III, PLEASE? It's one of the best in the series! And most definitely the best on the NES, why waste my time with a I remake for the 6th time?

I liked II but its awkward level up system was shitty.

III= GODLY

IV= one of the best stories and gameplay of ANY of the games.

V= pretty damn good.

VI= EPIC. SNES was the BEST for the series. From here, however...

VII= great game, but waaaaay overhyped. Most people who play this don't even bother playing the classics before it, and THAT is why this game bothers me...

VIII= great game, HONESTLY I think it outclasses VII in many ways.

IX= Meh. Not that great.



Also... Pissed they didn't give any more people from FF VI in the new Dissidia. >=(


OH YEAH, DO NOT get me started on X=2.

Crisis Core: decent. Good if you're a hardcore fan, like a fusion of Kingdom Hearts and VII as far as gameplay is concerned.

I don't agree with your favorite but I agree with your idea.

They just don't have any originality anymore. Companies like ATLUS and Nippon Ichi are fucking Squaure in the ass hard right now.

Is it REALLY that hard to come up with new ideas? Persona 3, 4, and Radiant Historia are all masterpieces. It's not like RPGs all suck now.

Also, Disgaea is a (relatively new) fresh spin on tactical RPGs its not like you'd pick DS's Chidren of Mana over it (WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?).

You guy should to keep in mind SE is involved in Anime too. And ANime based games... you think DISSIDIA IS BAD?

TRY THE FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST game on PSP.... Oh my God. That fighting game is one of the shittiest games of this generation. I was SOOOO disappointing.

PERFECT ANIME + SQUARE= SHITTY ASS GAME.
