If he blocks the servers, though, he won't be able to access the eshop like he said he wanted to.The system will always check for an update. You still need to block servers. don't let it update. You will get the real 5.5
Has this been confirmed? I've read in this forum some say that once spoofed to 5.5, you cannot get the real 5.5 and must wait for 5.6, and then others claim that if you spoof to 5.5 you can upgrade to the real 5.5.The system will always check for an update. @aliveWhat is correct? Once it is spoofed to 5.5.0 you can't update?
I spoofed to 5.5.0.E and blocked all the sites in my router but then... the kids took their wiiU to grandma ('s router). I am still on "5.5.0E" but I do not believe it is still spoofed. I have tried to open up Loadiine but nothing happens. How can I check if I am on the spoofed firmware or the regular 5.5.0E firmware?
My Wii U is on 5.3.2 and spoofed to 5.5.0. The first days I spoofed I've accidentally forgot to block the servers and it started downloading an update. It was about in 1/4 when I've noticed it and cleared with update removal tool. I assume it was the real 5.5.0H this been confirmed? No, if he uses the tubehax dns settings he can keep updates at bay while acessing e shop.If he blocks the servers, though, he won't be able to access the eshop like he said he wanted to.
Yeah, my mistake.yeah the console will update to real 5.5.0 even if you spoof, so you guys need to keep those servers blocked at all times

What? No! If you're spoofed to 5.5, it shouldn't update to the real 5.5. That was the whole point about not going back. You can only update to a newer firmware.yeah the console will update to real 5.5.0 even if you spoof, so you guys need to keep those servers blocked at all times

nope it doesnt work that way lol it should but it doesnt, the spoof is incomplete and nintendo knows it thats why we need nnupatcher to acess e shop even when spoofed, the spoofer is mainly for tricking games into online play and playing without prompting for the update but system updates and e shop know you dont have real 5.5.0 and will update you regardless. What? Huh, weird. I had this discussion with someone a month ago and we assumed that it would ONLY update if a higher firmware was found.nope it doesnt work that way lol it should but it doesnt, the spoof is incomplete and nintendo knows it thats why we need nnupatcher to acess e shop even when spoofed, the spoofer is mainly for tricking games into online play and playing without prompting for the update but system updates and e shop know you dont have real 5.5.0 and will update you regardless.

I'm on spoofed 5.5.0 for a month now and it doesn't seem like it ever tried to update. I no longer block updates since then basically and nothing happened. Maybe I was lucky or it really doesn't update from spoofed 5.5.0 to real 5.5.0. Obviously exploits and such are working fine.
Oh, I think that also happened to me once. Strange indeed. Maybe it failed because the firmware is spoofed because I didn't block updates?it was like that for me for a while and then the red x started to appear again on the download icon. I've check it, it was a system update trying to download.
