If you did it right, it should look something like this. Exit the inventory if you see that and it should be on your face like it should be.

(oh god how do I make it smaller)
Oh... When I saw nothing, I started all over again not thinking about exiting my inventory, I'll try again some other time, but thanks you so much for helping me.

Hey! Can anyone help out, I cant connect to TCPGecko on the hex editor or splathax, and I'm guessing nothing else will work. Any recommendations? I can try others but I don't know at the current moment if anything else works. I dont know what to do, I've seen other hacks work for other people.

Are you running TCP Gecko on your Wii U?

People have asked about that but didn't run TCP Gecko.... They thought you didn't need to do anything on the Wii U

Decided to try it out anyway, got it to work, thank you so much! <3 Also, do you have any ID's for other Hidden Gear? Like the Lab Coat?

Yes. I just tried the safe octohax, but it failed with timing out.
Hmmmmm Interesting, don't know how to help you with that, never happened to me before.

Alright, well. Easiest way I know to find the first empty head slot is to look at 12CD0D88 and search whatever value for the head you have in there. Depending on if you're wearing a set of items that have the same ID (like the Octoling gear) you're gonna have to hit the search button until you come to the right one. If you know how to edit gear manually then you'll probably be able to tell which item is which.

Then you scroll down and down until you find any section that looks like this, and change FFFFFFFF to 00006D61, which'll add the Elite Octoling Goggles to your inventory. Not that you'll be able to see it. I'd also add some stats to it, I don't know what happens if you don't.
Data Values: 00 - Damage Up
01 - Defence Up
02 - Ink Saver (Main)
03 - Ink Saver (Sub)
04 - Ink Recovery Up
05 - Run Speed Up
06 - Swim Speed Up
07 - Special Charge Up
08 - Special Duration Up
09 - Quick Respawn
0A - Special Saver
0B - Quick Super Jump
0C - Bomb Range Up

After that, then you should be able to poke 00006D61 into 12CD0D88 and they'll show up. Try to make sure you're not looking at the inventory while you do it though, it never changes if I do that

I did not understand the first step :(

you succeeded?

Hey, Is there an extra download for the hex editor? I really wanna find out how to edit gear and I think it's because of splatoon updating.. I dont know, I didn't really check the rest of the forum..I checked a few pages, not many so...

I could find out, all of the IDs are in the byaml files so it just takes a bit of patience. But right now I'm trying to learn to use Python for reasons. You'll probably like the reasons, maybe. Dunno.

You could do it, just takes a calculator that can convert decimal to hex. Sounds like you want to look at GearInfo_Clothes.byaml

but how ID clothes that door?
What?
