To be fair, Gateway and other piracy companies gained tenfold while the community itself hasn't utilized the information in any constructive way as of yet.

They've RE'd it, and released a better version with less bugs. I even know a few people who are still working on it.

What is this shit you speak of? I see nothing beneficial that happened as a result of the leaks, do you? lol AFAIK, the leaks haven't done a damn thing good for the scene but cause more drama.

Gateway has higher privilege access now, for one.

REALLY, Who would trust Govanibastard, no really.
He might stalked some shit and starting speculating

That's arguable given what we're allowed to now do with .cia files and the dev applications.

But why would anyone believe this guy's word over those of, you know, the ones doing the hacking?
because he maybe just did the same as before? leaking something?.
Just saying/guessing.

What if it had kernel acces? Almost nobody here ( inc me) knows how to use it AND is willing to release it.

Yeah the combination is really the problem, I would love to release it but I just don't know how. (Btw. Most likely if it has kernel access it will be released after ninty patches the exploit I heard that smea will be releasing source after patch!)

I don't remember him ever saying that, but such a modification would normally require kernel level access, unless there's some clever trick up smea's sleeve.

My enlglish isn't very good but I understand here http://smealum.net/ninjhax/ that he points to it.

ninjhax does not yet allow people to run software from other regions. This should however be possible at some point in the not-too-distant future.

The day we get an exploit that doesn't require a game or flashcard is the day I have hope in the hacking scene.

Oh, the_randomizer, never change. :P Have faith! There's always a bright future ahead! :rofl2:

For those who can get 4.x 3DS consoles that is or Cubic Ninja (which I remind you went up in price thanks to greedy braggarts) :creep: Sorry, but it's kinda hard to have faith when not much is known, when developers back-stab each other or at each other's throats. Not to mention the fact that exploits will always be limited to games or flashcards, and well, it'll always be that way, am I wrong? I don't see it happening, at all, given the fact that people love money, so, why have faith?

Yeah remember LetterBomb for wii, that was after haxxors thought there wouldn't be anymore system menu exploits!
Is that supposed to make it sound better somehow....? I don't see that as very reassuring.

GovanifY >>>>>>>>>>> Smea

I do not care about piracy

You must be joking. At least Smea actually proved he did his own work and not stole/leak unlike some dumbfounded trolling punk like GovanihY:rofl2:

ARM11 Kernel != ARM9 Kernel.
Also a big factor, yes. ;)

Stuff like this takes time. The PS3 and the 360 took forever to crack too, but eventually everything worked out in the community's favour. Patience is a virtue.

Wait...what??? Did I miss something...?
It's your lucky day, fox boy.

Enjoy! ;)
Good point! But does ARM11 kernel have more permissions than ARM11 userland. And if so it might mean people could find a way into ARM9 kernel?
Much like in the case of the DS, the two can exchange information, but are otherwise unrelated and do their own thing in their own cycles, minding their own businesses and controlling their own hardware.

Bu-bu-but Gateway is the only way to play backups. All of you using the exploit are dreaming if you think you will be able to play backups with this exploit. WAH!!

lmao its going to be awesome to go back to the"what homebrew do you want on SSPWN"
