I have 12 physical games that I would love to "convert" to digital versions for ease of access (even more so than Loadiine). That's not "piracy" and I refuse to feel bad about doing it.
The person stated that they were only release dumps that are patched and not a patcher.

what i want 2 say is, they cry/scream for piracy
or do you buy a Lambo but have no money to feed your kids??
they buy a console but want games 4free, thats what i call nice support for all the devs behind these games ;)
when you dont have 10$ for an eshop game, please sell your console
go out and play with rocks ,that make more sense and is cheaper

All i want to say is that i hate hypocrites more than pirates ,everyone in gbatemp acts like a nobel white knight when someone mentions piracy or warez , while i can safely bet that that same person who claims to be against it ; have some free "cias" installed ,the "freeshop" downloaded some pirated movies before , downloaded some loadiine ready "backups",Roms , etc ..., all i wanna say is, on paper everyone bitchs about piracy to appear Nobel ; but in reality most people are into jail-breaking their consoles to play free games.
there is no need to bring your morals values into it , people will do whatever they chose to do ,and some people just really love gaming , but due certain circumstances , they cant afford it because (low salary wage where they live , expensive electronics , etc ..) , if someone worked so hard to afford 200 $ for a console , what makes you think they're able to afford 60 $ for each game ? some people pirate because they can't afford gaming and they're passionate and broke , not because they're greedy and cheap.

dont make me cancer, yes i download warez and all that too, but i dont cry around " give me the hacks , where my hacks i want it NOW"
they should get up thier lazy arses to study to get better jobs etc , and if you cant buy every game i learned something they call it " Save Up Money, dont buy every shit what you dont need "
tell me which idiot buy every released game they dont have the time to play all of them, dont talk shit bro
End of OffTopic !!

Wait... How can this modified WUP Installer access USB without IOSU?! :O
Who said this doesn't use IOSU?
Also, there's probs a command to install title to USB.

If you (not the one quoted personally, but all the users in general!) followed homebrew progress instead of crying over a future IOSU Hack release for years, you'd know that WUP installer released by Dimok had that option for months now.
It doesn't require IOSU kernel, it's using the normal kernel's title install function, which has an option to choose where to install the game.
It's NOT wup installer which unlock the USB device, but the official title install function. WUP installer only tell the installer where the Title should go.

The "WUP Installer mod" has also been released long time ago (even few times).
it's just a version without the whitelist.

base on the video showing the WUP installation :
What we don't know is how to generate a proper/fake but working ticket. and that's probably what the "patcher" is doing.
it's using existing tools already released by other developers to install a patched game in NUS format.

just random thoughts: it's maybe using OTP data to modify exiting tickets.
So it's working only for games which had a WUD release (and known/extractable tickets).

Who is going to want to download the patched version of a game ?! Why not release the patcher surely that makes more since and is less of a piracy issue

Whatever happens I can't wait ! Though really interested in new Home-brew and for it to become permeant maybe there method will come out, Then the Home-Brew Community can use it to make more permeant apps.
The WiiU is dying .. I believe Home-brew and this, (yes it may be piracy but it maybe will draw in more people) could be a great thing for the WiiU. Home-brew Media Players, Notebooks, games that utilize all the game pads features. Stuff Nintendo just never fully did..
Here's hoping that when/if this releases, eventually the tool will too..

don't quote me on that, it's just speculation
Well, I did correctly guess that it uses a kernel command to install to USB.

@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
