Speakers crackling after replacing right analog stick

Hi all,

I recently replaced the right analog stick due to drift, but I noticed afterwards I frequently get crackling sound through the speakers. It happens randomly like for 2 mins everything is good then suddenly it starts crackling does anyone have experience of this?

Have not tried cause the old does not work, but will give it a shot to see if it does anything.

2000 the slim model, would the stick affect the speakers?

Ok I reverted the stick back to the original but no luck, crackling sound still comes back.
