Hacking Space Invaders Extreme woes

It's an awesome game, and I keep playing the first level over and over.
The problem appears after defeating the boss, the screens fade to black, the music keeps playing and nothing else happens.
It's annoying.
Did anyone else run into this? If so, is there any way to fix it?
