Sonic Rush was an amazing game. Even IGN, who always find something to criticize in the series games, gave a 9 / 10 for it (http://ds.ign.com/articles/666/666139p1.html).

If Sonic Unleashed is almost a 3D Sonic Rush, I think we can expect a similar quality, at least in the daylight stages.

I was lucky enough to have been born in the time period where Sonic was equated to high speed platforming rather than simply high speed.

With that said, Sonic Rush abandoned most 'platforming' aspects of the series in favor of speed. I ask you - what about it was amazing? I mean, it was fun for the first few levels, and time-trialing with that game is kinda fun, but at that point the 2D Sonic series had devolved into a 'hold right to win' sorta thing, with random pits of death thrown in for good measure.

I have to agree with this. Sonic Rush is much better than the 3D games, but miles away from the (platformer) quality of the Genesis classics.

The Gameplay over graphics is an arguement I have bought up for years with my mates and brothers, but tbh the Wii is kind of shite, only a handful of games play well, and only a couple are good, on the otherhand, where the 360 is a graphic bitch since the PS3 some really good games have been released, my guessing is they know they wont look as good as a PS3 so they moved to gameplay.
All i'm going to say about this game is pfft, sonic is old skwl, like Mario (N64 was best, should of been left there) and turning him into a Werehog??? this is just a stupid nobcheese's "Look at this story!!! ITS SOOOOOOO ORIGINALLL" script for the game, they are always trying to bring new life into Sonic.. this time they actually added NEW life into sonic.... we'll see
This guy knows the score!!!

I allways believed wii developers just wern't trying hard enough to make games look good, because RE4 on gamecube is still the best looking wii game... But now 2 years later I think maybe thats the best the wii can really do, nothing more than xbox 1 graphics if your lucky... I definitley didn't buy a wii because it was a graphics powerhouse, but I didn't expect the next generation nintendo to be on par graphically with a ps2

I know im gonna get the hell flamed out of me from people that havn't yet come to that realisation too.

Gameplay is more useful than graphics, true, but at the same time I can't believe how many people say graphics don't matter. It can be the best game in universe but if it looks like poo whos going to want to play it? without any graphics, you wouldn't be able to see your precious gameplay to start with.

on topic, the game looks alright. I'm willing to bet it'd get a 6.5 from IGN

hey..
i waited for this game from starts of the year..
and the release date isn't clearly for me now ._.
can you say when it's going to be in america/japan/europe??

PD:srry for the bad english, im chilean :B

The first game I played in my life was "Sonic The Hedgehog" for Sega Master System. It didn't was fast like the genesis one, but had a fantastic gameplay to a platform game.

Sonic Rush is not Sonic 4, but is an amazing Sonic game.

I played all the other games in the series, so I know what I'm talking about.

Look at this: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/42535.html

See plataforming there? Sonic Rush had it in a similar way.

So, quiting the off-topic, a Wii Control Tutorial Video:

Wow, the character model of Sonic looks really great. I first thought it was the 360-version... But everything else like the environment looks really boring and bland!

And this reminds me why I hate Griffith... I should play some SA1, so I remember Sonics real voice (in the case he ever needed one...)

Hey, I would agree with you if this seemed like Xbox quality development.

This is the PS2 version with more TEV shaders and a LOWER (30fps) framerate.

There's no excuse for that.

IGN has a gameplay video of a full stage:

http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14242720/so...wii_111408.html
That's actually the best vid I've seen of the game so far.

The camera still looks pretty bad and the sense of speed in the other games just isn't there in this version, but at least the environments in Apotos look surprisingly good. (PS2 ver. looks the same, but I can't complain, that's a nice looking PS2 game)

The game is released tomorrow for wii/ps2 with 360 delayed till the 24th a ps3 delayed until mid december!

Whose excited?!

I am a Sonic-"Fanboy"

all my Life I guess (I even liked SatSR)...

And I really was excited about this game but now I know, that two worlds are missing in the Wii version, that you have to talk to people on a 2D HUB (I would have preferred something like the map in Sonic 1 on SMS) and that most of the game is Werehog-Gameplay (IGN said, that they`ve played 30min Daytime and 2,5hours Night-time) I`m not quiet sure, whether I should be excited.

This really feels like NiGHTS JoD on the Wii, were the core-mechanics is really great (everyone who was pissed because of the Kids-Levels: go get a safestate and play the main Levels... those are really great!!!) and everything surrounding it seems to be really bad...

And who knows, why they kept the Werehog levels from the 360/3-Version and why they had to make new Daytime levels for the Wii-version???!

SEGA, you lazy ***********

The reviews that are coming out have been positive but then they were also for Secret Rings and I fount that game to be a bit average to be honest.

I've been reading that the Wii version is a lot better due to the boring bits being taken out so its just pure action.

I'm not really into these gimmicks that SEGA keep putting into the Sonic games, the next game Sonic has a sword...why does he need a sword? Would be nice if they returned him to his roots and made the games to be more than just running and jumping.

Sonic CD 2 please SEGA.

i've heard that the 360 and ps3 versions are more story and rpg, and the wii is more action, i think i will go with the wii version imo.

im really holding out that the 360 version will be good since so much is removed from the wii version

The wii version has 4 acts in each stage (the x360 has only 2), not to mention that the plot requires the game to have a minimal of 7 zones, plus the end zone (Eggman Land).

In any case, they are 2 different games, is like comparing the Genesis Sonic 1 and the Master System Sonic 1, both are great, but completely different.

thats a good comparision of horsepower but were their any content differences between the two as I never owned a master system
