i, for one, liked sonic and the secret rings a lot. the final battle was epic, and I really dont seem to recall anyone talking about how sonic looked in his final transformation in that game. The story might've sucked a lot, but i liked the game and it was fun to play. And the graphics were great IMO. I mean, it's a game.. you shouldnt care how good it looks as long as you're having fun.

Some of the love that Sega is putting on this game:

Eggman have a Dreamcast =D!!!

Also, I think that once you see the introduction, your opinion on this game will change for sure ^^:

Why is everybody awaiting good graphics on the Wii when even many of Nintendos First Party games (exclude MP3,SMG and some others...) doesn`t even look that good. I really hope, that it looks decent and plays really good (or at least the Sonic levels).

And SatSR looked for its time pretty good (the water in the dinosaur level looked so good... there isn`t much that looked better on the Wii)... One of the prettiest games on the Wii at that time and who cares if the gameplay is not as good? In the end nobody!

The biggest problem here is that the game has 360 and PS3 versions.. and it will obviously look worse in comparison.. if this game was a Wii exclusive, people would be praising the graphics :/

It's like those Arcade -> Genesis/SNES ports in the late 90's, the console version could be excellent, but would never look as good as the Arcade one, and people would always feel like they're not playing the real deal.. Wii games need to be made exclusive and from ground up to the platform, or it will always be ruined by the comparisons.

The versions for Wii and x360 are almost 2 completely different games.

The Wii version has Spindash and has a combo system during the day levels, while the x360 version has Adventure Fields and a Level UP system more similar to RPGs, with Status Points.

Also, the Wii stages are more similar to Sonic Rush, while the stages of x360 have a single air.

And a X360/Wii Graphic comparison:

In same resolution is not that diferent =.=

Don't hate a game that hasn't been released yet.

EDIT: Release date: (EU) 11/14/08, (US) 11/18/08.
EU release date was reported to: 28/11/2008.

and the game looks very nice on Wii, even better than Secret Of The Ring.

so the ps3 and 360 version will be like sonic adventure then?

Yes, but with the improvements of Secret Rings and Rush, as the camera and Boost.

Ahh..
One more thing, The X360 version is being done by Hiroshimoto, creator of Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast), while the Wii version is getting help from Dimps, creator of Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush.

Edit:

Just showing how diferent is the Wii and X360 version:

Many of you are missing the point of my post. I'm a definite subscriber to the idea that gameplay > graphics, but that's the thing - I have yet to see anything that would put the Wii version above the other two versions, gameplay wise, and in fact have heard and seen things that seem to put it below the other two versions. Which is why I can't believe it's getting so much praise. You can't blame me for not liking the idea of shitty portwork getting support... we already have enough bad Wii games as it is.

Ok, so... since Sonic Unleashed on the Wii doesn't use the Wii Remote's motion, or pointing, we should just dump it...

How about on the PS2... does it use the network adapter for online play? Oh, it doesn't, so let's dump that version too...

360... does it use the HD for anything, or online play... no? DUMPED!

PS3... motion control (6axis), bluray for super hi def res graphics, network play? Fuck, dumped agian...

No more consoles! Guess this game get's dumped all around... too bad they won't make any money on this game now... guess Sonic Team get's put down like a dog because of this...

/sarcasm... dumbass

Reread my post, and please don't be an asshole. I was being civil, I was sorta expecting the same outta you folks. Anywhos, you seriously missed the point of my post. I'm not saying the game should be dumped because it doesn't use motion - I'm saying it shouldn't be receiving the amount of support it is receiving, because it seems as though we're not getting as tight a product as we should be.

andd play like shit on the 360 and ps3 , both consoles are shite , oo oo ooo look at the graphics ahh shit it plays like a dead dog.

That's kinda blind fanboyism, dontcha think? Many of you are saying that I've got no evidence that the game will play worse on the Wii, but you've got to realize that, while gameplay is more important than visual fidelity, graphics are still an important part of a game, especially a game that is supposed to provide a sense of speed. Providing a sense of speed lends itself well to the gameplay, and since the Wii version and the PS3/360 versions seem to play the same way, which am I supposed to think is better? The version with dumbed down visuals, a static hub, clipping issues, meh-looking level design, etc?

I saw that a while ago, and the Apotos vid, and that got me hyped for the game. Well, the PS3 version, at least. The news (that came the very same day) of missing features in the Wii version bummed me out a bit.

Oh, and can I throw something out real quick? I disliked Sonic Rush. It pretty much ditched the platforming aspect of Sonic games and went with the 'hold right and play the same level a few times to memorize where the pit o deaths are to win'.

I love how xtalarge had to pm me to cry that I made fun of him, and called him a dumbass...

The point of your post was people who like Sonic games are giving this game high praise, and you don't think it should get that praise because your not a sonic fan...

Well, I got news for ya bud... there are fanboys all over the internet... just because you make a pointed post doesn't mean they will all see the light, and treat everything fair and equal... it's kinda like Fox News... even though the world sees things one way, they will see it how it looks best for them...

You will never change a fanboys opinion about a game, or console, just by saying something stupid like it doesn't take advantage of the Wii's capabilities and should be shunned... they will just bash you, and then you'll go PM land and cry that they shouldn't have made fun of you or said a certain comment.

There is no way your winning this argument with all the fanboys here... sorry, you lose, GTFO and cry on mommy's shoulder...

I am not a fanboy.

I like what i like its as simple as that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion its just your opinion is different to about 99% of wii owners.

The simple answer is if you dont like it dont buy it a fuckin retarded 360 owner could work that out.

anything after (and including) Sonic 3D was complete shit... Spinball was ok (the pinball clone)

Once they start getting into the RPG, and Turnbased/Real Time and thirdperson shooter/fighter genre's, the whole of SonicTeam should have been shot and replaced...

MY OPINION!

Crying? I simply said that it was uncalled for. Don't see why you have to be a dickweed, but whatever. I guess anonymity does that to people.

EDIT: Just caught your sig, had to lol.

Haha, oh man, you REALLY misunderstood my post. #1 - I never said I wasn't a Sonic fan - it's one of my favorite series out there. And I'm not trying to change opinions, as much as express my disappointment over the fact that the Wii, home of god-awful ports, will get yet another - and people are supporting it. If anything, that only gives devs less of an incentive to work hard at Wii games. Considering that I am, like most of you, a Wii fan, I don't see that as being a good thing. Don't see how that makes me a 'dumbass'.

One last thing - I've come to learn through years of interaction with human beings that the person who first resorts to calling names over trivial crap or misunderstandings are the 'losers'.

Now this, I can agree with.

Well, I mean, there was Sonic Advance 2...
