Why don't they put Sonic 2 in it as well? That would make it worth it....I seriously wouldn't pay full price for a port of Sonic 1 alone (Plus Sonic 2 is a much better game).

That said I wouldn't buy it anyway, I can just play Sonic 1 and 2 on my psp

Heard this a while back during the 15th anniversary, wouldnt've made more sense to release it back then?

Hope its a budget release as it'll be on Virtual Console cheap and also as a 2 parter for mobile phones.

Nu-uh!

Sonic 3 doesn't have anything on Sonic 2. The Casino levels alone make Sonic 2 the best Sonic game ever made

Aye, plus with Sonic 2 you can take up the super quick first level challenge, in which you have to finish the first act of the first level in the quickest time possible, 24 seconds being the quickest I managed.

Sonic 1 on the megadrive/genesis is a great game although I feel some of the master system ones outdid it. I also think the new sonic game released already for the DS will beat this.

Also while sonic 2 is unquestionably deserving of a place in legend I will back up Jax on Sonic 3 & Knuckles, many hours of fun have been had with that (it also enabled me to create a monster involving sonic and knuckles, sonic 3 (OK I used 2 as well at other points) and a game genie.

Of course ports of classic games are welcomed in place of Disney channels newest and most boring live action show to date, 2: "Oh no she didn't" or better yet a 2 in 1 bundle of that and the previous version.

If i had to pick the best sonic game i would have to pick sonic cd i loved everything about that game even the music was cool
That would've done alot better if it was ported instead of the first game but then I guess it would cost more to make what with the soundtrack.

Anyone knows if the Genesis title will stick over in places were the Genesis was called Mega Drive?

This sounds a bad idea remaking the original sonic for the GBA. A better idea would have been to make some sort of sonic collection similar to what was released on the PS2, XBOX, GC with all the sonic games included. Then release it on the DS.

Well I read about this bfeore it's not new news, but I have also seen that it will go for $19.99 in the states so it is budget priced.

While it is Sonic 1, there is a pair of updates I'm aware of you'd also find in Sonic JAM on Saturn and I think the GC release too in which you can enable spindash and also there's saving (which is needed in a game like that on a handheld.)

To me it's $20 well spent, but no more than that at all. I still love that original more than most the others, kind of like how SMB1 really stands out quite well still among it's more meaty in size/abilities sequels.

No, Vampire Hunter D, the updates weren't in the GC version, only in Sonic Jam. But yeah, saving/spindash will be nice.

Sonic 3 doesn't really have anything on Sonic 2, neither does Sonic & Knuckles. It's only when they're put together to make Sonic 3 & Knuckles that it really becomes great, with all characters in all levels, and a more competent storyline.

I'd like to see a Sonic game where Knuckles wheres his cowboy hat from the movie.
