Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing DS: Fastest character?

I hope this isn't too early to do a poll on this. I know some people can't play it on some flashcarts, but for those of us lucky enough to be able to.........

Which Character, in your opinion, seems to have the best chance of actually winning races in Sega & Sonic All-Stars Racing for DS, especially on medium/hard level?

Easy mode doesn't count. I mean, come on, let's be truthful here, if you can't dominate easy mode, you just fail at racing games.

Just curious to see what the consensus is on the fastest character in the game. Who will it end up being?

well,I can't play it on DS(haha,R4),but I did download the demo for PS3,and the only characters able to be played on the demo are sonic and Dr.E,but I like sonic out of all better(Shadows pretty cool too.)

Shadow's my favourite, but that's probably cause he's my favourite SEGA character in general.

although his trick animation isn't that great in terms of shortness, he has a top speed of 9/10 and a drift of 10/10. Sure his acceleration is 4/10, but there are so many boost pads and other opportunities to reach top speed in no time that low acceleration is hardly a factor.

Gonna have to say Beat. He's got a mean sense of fashion and is one of the cooler characters there.

I think the roster is a joke. Eggman has a higher top speed than Sonic.

That being said, I use AIAI. Just 'cuz.

i use Beat and Ryo Hazuki because they're characters from some of Sega's only GOOD series that they refuse to continue....

my fav character would be Ryo and knuckles here. knuckles's drift seems bleckh though...
Ryo is awesome but shadow is just by far the fastest

Didn't play the DS version, but I always take Shadow in the Wii version

He is kinda the only one I can do mad drifts with.

Is it just me or do a lot of these character feel the same? The differences are just not as noticeable as in Mario Kart.
As of now, I just prefer Sonic since I don't know of anyone better to choose. Does anyone know who the Dry Bones of this game is?

I Dont know why people like shadow more than sonic .
i mean come on guys . wasnt we playing sonic the hedgehog 1 ,2 and 3. wasnt he your favorite .

From seeing this i kinda think that the shadow fans wherent playing old sonic games . i am not sure but that what i think.

BTW, my opinion has changed, I prefer Opa-Opa over Shadow now.
