I'll admit, I'm a bit skeptical.

It looks rather too gimmicky for my tastes. Of course, if executed well, it could be very good, but I'm not seeing it just yet. On the other hand, it looks smooth, and could do very well. Again, if executed well.

Also, the random new enemy... things better not mean I- *ahem* the doctor isn't in it. That'd be disgusting.

We'll see what happens once more news emerges. If all else fails, I'll watch the cutscenes. Chances are pretty decent I won't be buying the tea tray machine, after all.

EDIT: How on earth did I accidentally QUOTE my edit? Could someone delete the previous post and de-quotify this? :P

2 the movement in this game is far more sporadic and the levels are a different shape.

Well, in fairness, reason #2 can be countered with the fact that this is a trailer. They're usually rather... schizophrenic, when it comes to rapidly blasting images past you, especially with Sonic trailers. That's why I said I'd prefer to wait until a bit more is known before passing judgment on that score.

Here is a imagine of both versions.

Well fuck.
Please wait while I buy back the Wii I threw through the wall and sold. Only Colours can console me now. God help me.
I guess i'm buying a Wii U then.
and you guys, please DON'T mention Sonic Xtreme. You make me cry.

I loved sonic back in the day , all these 3D versions seem to much on rails too me , am i missing something ?

Liked the Exclusivity :)

I'm half tempted to slap you for that last bit. :P

Frankly, the exclusivity annoys me. I won't go so far as to say "omg it's ruined forever", and I understand why they did it. Irregardless, I'm not a fan of it, and as someone who doesn't intend to ever own a Wii or Wii U (and who fully expects, like others, the DS/3DS versions to be FAR worse), I find it vexing.

bite the bullet join the DRM free console elite :)

For once, the DRM has nothing to do with my choice.

I don't like playing on either the stick waggling device or the tea tray machine. For the former, I never had a sense of control except for those games that used a classic controller, thus rendering the entire POINT to the Wii completely moot. For the latter, I don't want to have a second screen in my hands that I also have to worry about that doesn't appear to add anything useful to gameplay that couldn't also be displayed on my main screen, thus eliminating the oversized controller and giving me, again, a regular controller.

Call me a traditionalist, if you like.

EDIT: At any rate, the original topic is being drifted away from a bit, I didn't intend to turn this into a discussion on the merits and demerits of specific consoles. Sorry about that.

Mario 3d land + Sonic the hedgehog = Sonic Lost World? it looks really awesome. seems sega actually is going in the right direction again with sonic.

The past few posts sort of show why I'm still sitting on the fence. There are things I like, there are things I dislike. I'd prefer more information before forming a complete opinion.

This looks quite nice actually.

I liked Colors and Generations, but to me they were still trying too much to be new Sonic-esque, Generations especially. It was going too fast and it ruined the experience for me. But this looks like it's going the perfect speed where you can just keep going, and not blindly jump and see whats ahead of you. So if it remains slower paced I'll be happy. Because honestly, Generations would be a fantastic game, but like I said, it's just waaaay too fast for my tastes.

But with any Sonic game sadly, you have to remain skeptical. They have been on a bit of a streak lately, but they have a ways to go before we know the Sonic games will be great before release.
